What difference is there between the two endings? The entire epilogue from the "bad end" was contained in the "good end", except the date of Lotus' meeting with Reinhard was different (which I assume is a TL error). Did Ren's participation amount to nothing? What difference is there between the two resulting universes?

Also, did Johann just have a normal life? I kept waiting for him to appear, but it seems he just lead a normal life. I don't think it was explained how Ren got adopted by Kasumi's parents either, but that may be due to sleepy reading.

I'm guessing though MG would have been more willing to go after someone making a patch if they had been selling a patch covering the price difference between Steam and the MG release. They only opted for free patches now since that seems to be all they were able to get approved, and even then W Happiness is $40 on both platforms, when the original was 35 on Steam and $45 off Steam and they just decided to split the difference.

Of course though, MG would have handled it quietly and out of sight (just as Frontwing did). Sekai's bigger issue was turning it into a public fight on twitter.

Anyways MG only started patches last month with Dal Segno, but they never had any incentive to block unofficial patches because they had no ability to patch titles themselves. The whole Sekai incident was because of the group creating a free patch for KaraKara when Sekai had a $10 patch on Denpa for KaraKara.

I don't think that paid patches are the way to go, but still a quiet C&D would have ended it without incident, just as Frontwing did for their titles that got unofficial patches. The much bigger issue was the public confrontation started by Dovac, who was still CEO at the time (which resulted in him leaving Twitter for a time and stepping down as CEO).
