How do I fuck up a scarlet dawn's palladium (the orbital laser)?
Everything that can do some damage is shot down by the laser defenses before it reaches, I can use smaller projectiles (around 150mm) and they will hit but do very little damage.
Are lasers the only way to take it down? Considering how fast it tears down my ships (using smoke screens) I don't even think I'll have enough time to aim before my turrets are all sniped out if I don't use a big laser already somewhat pointed in its direction when the battle starts.

I don't know about you, but I just played Bricks with 6 SMGs on them. Aim for the approximate center of a bomber, offset slightly based on trajectory, and just hold down the fire button. Didn't always work if they got a good blast off on me, but usually dropped them good enough.

I tried setting up a server locally on my other PC, loaded the same map and it works well, no noticeable lag.
Bad news:
My upload speed is about 120kB/sec. This may be enough for 3-4 players, but downloading the map for anyone will take ~2 minutes at least at the current 15MB map size and lag everyone who's playing

I just tried a couple things. With missile 1 I moved half the missile away from the tracking computer block because I thought maybe that block was having its movements restricted and that's what made it so unable to maneuver. Missile 2 had its center of mass shifted way backwards to make it more unstable in flight, which helps with making rapid changes in direction. Missile 1 managed to maneuver onto the plane and hit it as it made a sharp (as sharp as this thing can do, anyway) turn, then missile 2 missed but made a full 180 and came back to hit what was left of the plane

Now I gotta try this with one of the faster, more agile planes and see how well the missiles can keep track of it as I try to dodge them

After dodging two or three times the missile goes full retard and starts doing weird maneuvers, like it can't fly straight to the target anymore. Using a few tracking blocks the second plane can sort of follow the one I'm flying. Obviously the tracking computer can't control the plane's ailerons and elevator so it's not really flying the plane, it's just sort of forcing it in the direction of the lead plane and that's not very effective

If there's a hard farmlimit of ~2800 scrap from missions and brawls over a week, that's 400 scrap a day.

However, essentially, if literally everybody earns as much as they absolutely can in scrap, it'll just barely all get used along with the talers. No room for using it on other things.
