I don't know if you can describe every guild as that, if people don't take a ret it's not because they tryhards it's because the class spec is inferior and if your doing progression or wiping a lot you can't really afford to bring meme specs.
You can't intentionally make shitty classes unless the content is easy, honestly i know people hate the difficulty levels here but I think its the best thing they ever did for pve, because people can use meme specs and no one will really give a shit unless you're doing mythic or early heroics.

Yup, I had the exact same issue. I tried it out and the colour scheme is this cancerous water colour bullshit and the UI was some of the most retarded shit I've ever seen. The character models all looked like complete shit and it was way too much weeb shit for me to handle

friendly reminder that all hybrid classes in vanilla were meant to be healers if they could heal, and healing was the endgame spec with their dps specs only meant to be present to make leveling bearable, and otherwise serve no purpose

Stop with the fucking dps warrior meme, the shaman and priest dps memes, the paladin dps memes and the druid dps memes. The tanking specs for paladins and druids existed solely so that throughout the leveling process, there wouldn't have to be the burden of relying on a single class for allowing groups to clear content or not, reducing its importance in the leveling process and allowing things to be more flexible for the sake of reaching endgame in a leisurely manner. Supports never did dps and weren't meant to in the endgame until expansions came and casualized the living shit out of everything due to player feedback. It's fucking awful that so many versions of wow exist where a hybrid class can outdps a pure dps class.

what would you say is the most balanced class in vanilla for pvp overall? from my experience so far everything is stupidly imbalanced to the point of blatant rock paper scissors outside of premade v premade BGs or ebin gear battles .

I had druid/shockadin at max level in tbc and priest/prot paladin in wotlk, and was really just leveling during vanilla. I'd say they were pretty balanced classes for their expansions, nothing 100% shits on them and they don't 100% counter anything, but it seems like in vanilla everything either counters or gets countered by a certain spec/class. it's pretty fucking boring at the moment outside of organized BGs where people have set roles, so i'm hoping to find a class to play that isn't so dry

Thing is druid is a fairly hard class to master in feral which is what most druids want to be, you must have certain gear and items to help you, you have tools from warriors,rogues,priest skill types and unique tools to the druid thrown in, at the same time you lack all the unique tools of the three classes you take from in a wild card, things like vanish from rogue, overpower from warrior, shadow from priest. You must know how to shapeshift and use your balance skills perfectly together, while using all the tools you can with the best play of them.

Pure feral if you are smart and know how to hybrid correctly 14,32,5 talent is a good build, but you compete for best in slot gear with rogues which makes it kind of douchy given the bloated number of rogues.

Healer and Healer/Feral hybrid is fairly common also and is pretty self explaining given the server and general vanilla view of how druids are suppose to function.

Bringing a balance/feral dps means not bringing a warlock/rogue. They don't do as much damage as those other classes so you're intentionally weakening your raid groups performance by bringing one. Not to mention it starts a bad precedence where other people will want to play meme specs too because it's not fair that only one guy gets to. Druid tanks just cannot put out the threat per second that a warrior can and they take way more damage too.
Resto is a decent spec and most guilds will be bringing 1-3 always. They are almost necessary on fights like Maexxna where their HoTs can keep the main tank up during the full raid web mechanic.
In pvp druid is pretty good at niche rolls. It won't be owning other players but it can be extremely annoying for the other team to kill

Hey dudes. I'm rolling on Elysium today. First time on a private server but I played WoW from 04 til 2013. Question though, I'm seeing some videos where bosses are dying way way way faster than they used to. I know much of that is due to people being smarter and better now.

But this leads to my questions. From what I gather many boss strategies from vanilla aren't done now on private servers. Razorgore for example we used to use warriors to piercing howl kite the orc warriors around while hunters kited dragons. Now it seems people kill everything?! So I'm wondering, do guilds even bother farming Fire resist gear for rag/vael now? What about nature resist for huhuran when Aq drops?
