I for instance try to eliminate it entirely. Others like a bit of it for definition.

As long as the footage is good, the emotes complete, and there's no glaring issues like transparency in the body or stuttering then it's completely down to personal preference.

Another ripper who goes by No Comment for instance (the guy who did the ApolloSoJ rip) likes to resize characters to fit the bench, as you can see from that particular rip in question.
