Apocalypse (Atk up on consecutive) seems nice especiallyy with the Demon dance combos, but Kannagi (Cancel with Demon Dance) could either be infinitely better or brokenly worse depending on its interaction/fluidity. They come as random drops, but right now you're looking at a guaranteed reward for the 'Dance of the Yokai' mission. Seems viable, especially if you use the DDance combo to proc a status. From experience, all three stances can proc superfast, so try to stick to High or Mid stance to get some damage in there. I only say Mid at all because High stance can be a bit finiky at times with a locked-in one direction strong attack. Unless there is something I am missing, stay off low stance.

-All shots get a second spell on the tree

>Lightning shot V2=Linear tracking line of strong damage thunder strikes, like a Nue attack. Only problem is that it will have a moderate delay before it will hit the enemy due to the thinderbolts ovcuring one at a time in a line from you to them.
>Wind Shot V2=5 higher damage wind shots form a perpendicular line and fire simoultaneously. Basically a straight upgrade and is less easy to dodge.

>Hermit=Huge Def down for infinite poise. Basically makes heavy armour builds unstunnable, with a moderate amount of armour left.

>[Ki one]=Nearly prevents all Ki regen for about 40 seconds, then gives giga Ki regen for about 40 seconds. Does what it says on the can, good against bosses/things you can prepare for. Very good once it gets going.
>[The other Ki one]=Heavy Atk down for Huge Ki damage increase. Seems to be more co-op as the constant breaks are nice, however the Atk down prevents a single player from capitalising on it. Kara-Jishi, Powerpill and Carnage talisman seem to just mitigate the Atk down-bit at that point why use the talisman in the first place. Definitely more OP in Co-op.

Perhaps we will see a Onmyo counterpart of the Kunaispammers sometime soon.

Use Suppa/Catwalking/TigerRun to skip most enemies, do all the bosses you can, then Co-Op one of the Omi region missions to get the highest end loot for that difficulty. If a boss is OKHO'ing you, a there is no shame in popping a Quick-Change scroll for that singular encounter.
Easily the hardest challenge in both NG+/++ is soloing TriKelley on the The Queens Eyes mission. Bash your head against a wall for 4hrs, beat them then use the loot from the next difficulty to clear up the harder missions on the previous difficulty. Bishbashbosh.

Nah, side missions are just as valuble to push the little blue bar along. Some of them can be basically skipped by Suppa/Catwalk/TigerRun. On top of that, certain bosses are much easier compared to the lategame, namely Onryoki, Centipede1, Okatsu, Hino (if you know what you are doing) and Spiderchick. Sens' croakery set is quite cheesable and Froggo ain't as bad as some of the others, such as Umibozu, Ogress or Nue.

Also enemies will still be able to detect you if you 'touch them', making enemies that block gates a pain in the arse as they are near guaranteed a hit on you if you ain't careful. I feel you, you need to be in a certain state of mind to enjoy Nioh without being disheartened.
Either way at region 2, you have 4 other regions, 2 DLC regions and 1 yet to come in DL3. I would say leave it as is until DL3 comes around, but if not at least stop before the DLC. It is a notable step harder and expects you to have NG+/++ weapons to progress with ease.

And just a hunch, if you are struggling with Umi-Bozu, light all the fires outside the boss (One is behind a fake wall in the centre room), get the middle shrine as your respawn and use fire damage on Umi-without putting out the big torches. He is probably one of the hardest bosses in the game, so don't sweat it if you take a while.

Doing the higher difficulties gives higher rewards.
Saorise is the biggest boost and you can farm every mission over, the Nobunaga boss gives you way more than you could possibly need.

Is the Ethereal quality only on weapons, or armor as well?

the door closes when you walk passed the middle of the second yokais tank. so you can whack the first tank, kill that, whack the second tank, kill that, walk a bit further and as soon as you hear the first clone drop out run back to the gate and hide behind the first tank. they can still shoot you from here so watch out for that. then just wait a bit. sometimes one will run at you, sometimes you have to edge forward really slow and shoot one to pull it in. try not to get any further forward than the first tank and the other 2 should not aggro.

Attacking the tanks will wake up the yokai. Don't trigger the room, break the first two tubes one at a time and then move past the "trigger". desu (to be honest) honestly I take back what I said about deflect being a gimmicky effect for accessories. It's actually pretty handy for killing cannon fags and you no longer need a good ranged weapon to quickly kill bow/rifle assholes. You can usually one or two shot reflect kill them, even red phantom cannon yokai only take 3-4 reflects to die.

I've finally switched from Kara-jishi to Nurarihyon since my primary weapon is a 1kat with multiple water effects. The blind it provides seems less blatant than the ninjutsu item blind but Sasuke missing his tackle completely felt nice.

Do the weapons effects that boost elemental damage by a % just increase the damage dealt, or do they also boost how quickly you you inflict elemental ailments? Also allies don't seem to get a health buff in wise. Ginchiyo was getting wiped out in only a few hits during her mission. Her damage output was still pretty high though.

I actually like it, some enemies have new moves. on eyed oni now sit on you if you linger behind them too long, big skellingtons do the axe spin. If you play cautiously. dlc will definitely bring people back, but I was playing a ton a few weeks ago, both summoning and being summoned on WotD and always quickly found people. The trophy for completing all mission on demon is telling though. You can usually get a summon for most demon missions. but there are a few ones where I tried waiting for 20-30 minutes at a time, several times and never got anybody. The conspirators is one of them. Sometimes i will specifically go to that mission as a visitor and get summoned straight away, I don't think many people have done that and people always need help with those fucking triple ninjas and the dual ninja yokai that come after. There were a few other missions I was never able to summon help for too.

Do you get the moth in this dlc? So far I have the Horse and was disappointed I didn't get her too.

Usually for builds you build around a weapon and then usually around weapon skills. By endgame if you are doing things right you will have an absurd amount of damage. You can even make tank builds that can take huge amounts of damage too. Consider how many different stats there are for you to increase.

- fully levelled and + weapon, forged with 7 effect slots. all effects rolled to what you want
- all armour pieces the same, 2 good accesories with effects that fit your build
- weapon and armour set bonuses optimal for your build
- your regular player levels, by end to mid of wotd you will easily be level 25-300 enough for several 99's where it counts
- all your samurai, ninja and omnyo skill points in the right places
- all your agyo and ugyo prestige points allocated to the right stats
- both guardian spirits at max level and optimal for you build
- joining the right clan and getting the best benefits for your build
- prior to fights you stack whatever buffs and debuffs you have available

and suddenly you are killing wotd bosses in 3 seconds. everyone bitches about ninjutsu builds being cheap and ez mode but it's actually one of the weakest OP builds. living weapon critical builds are disgustingly OP. You don't even need to max out every avalible stat to have an extremely powerful character.

Both of the main missions in this murdered the level design of the first DLC and the second was pretty much an actually good version of the barefoot Okatsu mission. Both fights were better as well and actually balanced for using something slower than a katana.
