so I did some testing with Ink Resistance to see how the new version looks like. The webm is from a Japanese player testing the run speed but I wanted to test the other aspects. Lef to right is 3 main 2 main 1 main btw.

2 main seems to be Splatoon 1 Ink resistance, your jump height is unaffected same and you can run pretty damn fast. 1 is weaker of course but still lets you jump a little bit higher and lets you swim through those small chunks which I think is more than enough to win duels. 3 is complete overkill.

Not original anon, but walls kill wifi strength. Air is best.

Basic rules (there are caveats) is - 30dBm is perfect wifi strength, - 80dBm is needed for basic connectivity. The strength is also on a log scale, though commonly displayed to you as wifi bars in a linear scale. So 4 bars would be -30 to -40, 3 bars -41 to -50, and so on. So in a hypothetical situation, even though going from one room to another could show a loss of one bar (what looks like a 1/4th loss) due to walls and the range involved, that's actually a change of around 10 dBm, which is actually 10 times slower to the router.

Learning aside, use 2.4gHz if that's an option, or stay in the same room as the router, or get a wired connection.

Is this your house? You renting/living with someone? The easiest solution is just run a cable to the room lol. 2nd easiest is to run the ethernet through a socket (turned off), into the attic, to your room, and drop through another socket or maybe closet. If it's an apartment then maybe air ducts, otherwise you're SoL. And it would mean you could only reliably play when docked but that's better than nothing. Test it out before putting in all that work though.

Then there's not much else you can do except maybe stay in the same room as the router. 2.6ghz doesn't affect the wifi strength, just its frequency. The lower frequency makes it easier to go through walls (much like how bass can be heard more easily through walls compared to treble). Not much you can do about actual strength except move the router or maybe get a better one.

I actually like the joycons more than a traditional controller layout after playing with them for so long. Im able to control the right stick with the first joint of my thumb while still having access to ABXY, while with any other controller your thumb has to move off of one of them to use the other. That along with the wider range of motion that the joycons provide make them far superior to the pro controller.

I havent had as much of an issue with the stick travel as I thought I would, I guess using the 3ds "joystick" and the little nub on the new 3ds really got me accustomed to shitty joysticks.

I've come to the conclusion that mid-range (splatter pro, splatter shot, etc.) weapons are completely fucking worthless.

The difference between midrange and close range is miniscule, by the time you start shooting the enemy would have already gotten in your range. There's no point trying to use weapons that require aiming skill when you can just swim up to someone and insta-gib them with slosher or dualies. Especially since the midrange weapons have shit paint coverage, as opposed to slosher which can completely cover an area in -2 seconds.

You idea of mid-range is very off. SSP isn't idealistically choosing to fight at the same range as a SS, it's just a bit further back around the 96 gal range with better accuracy. SSP is more defensive while SS is significantly more aggressive. And a longer range, defensive weapon doesn't go pushing into enemy ink because it results in people gap closing into them and fucking them in the ass, because that's where close range weapons shine. Close range weapons cannot fight a long range weapon in their own ink. That's literally the advantage of ink control.

with ink resistance, if you swim into enemy ink you can actually go a pretty decent distance before you get forced into human mode. That lets you swim through areas where the enemy might've shot it up. Same goes for jumping, you can barely jump without ink resistance but with 2 main you can jump the same height which is great for escaping

It was exactly the same with Splatoon 1 in relation to all the single player content.
Though we finally got some interactive elements from the single player eventually like the propellers and conveyor belts.

And now with Splatoon 2. We already have things like the old Ink Rails and so on from the start.
But the Splatoon 2 single player introduced many new things like Ride Rails, Inkfurlers, Rollonium, and Bounce Pads.

Do you think we'll see any of these things added to upcoming (or existing) maps?

You don't get exp based on how much you turf anymore, you can only get up to 500 exp by inking at least 500p.
There are weapons that can easily ink 500 while still having better killing power then the Aerospray, increasing your chances of winning.
