They've been melting several different people in blood and then reviving them, this is how all the monsters made of body parts came to be. But they were merely testing the technology. Their goal was to melt enough people to make a new body for Mother Kos for them to host her consciousness. Once the body is ready, they would use Mergo's umbilical cord to beckon her consciousness and put it into her new body. Once that is done, she would grant them eyes in gratitude for reviving her.

There's a vial of her blood right next to Mergo, she's clearly supposed to be Mensis. There's nothing that links her to the Choir, on the other hand. Cane? It's just a standard Hunter weapon. Augur of Ebrietas? Micolash has no problems using it. Celestial Emissaries? They're not exclusively associated with the Choir. But Iosefka's blood is exclusively associated with her, and we only ever find in in Nightmare of Mensis.

ok lads, looking for honest feedback on my original chunky build. i made it because i had never used the wheel or hmls before, and the church cannon is my favourite weapon (and is the largest sidearm for maximum chuncc), but i'll be honest it probably isnt the most optimised build, which is especially apparent in pvp.
what changes would you make to it and why? i'm thinking maybe 5 less arc and 3 less str, and then 8 more vit, but this could also be overcome by using another clock instead of formless oedon. in this case, the extra points could go towards more damage, but the wheel gets more out of arc because i use it almost entirely tricked, and the hmls gets much more out of a str increase because i use the untricked r2 almost exclusively.
essentially, can this build be changed to make it more pvp viable, but without compromising the ease of gem farming (one of the main draws is that the only boss you need to farm is killing bsb once for the ludwigs rifle gem), or reducing the variety of weapons it can use (wheel must be usable untricked, good tricked, hmls good untricked, gloves.exe useful, and church cannon available)

What bosses are you going to combo on? Most of them get hyperarmor after one or two hits and will just swat you out of your combo anyway.

The Wheel and the HMLS are not pressure tools. Wheel dashR1 spam can chase a little bit, but both weapons benefit the most from trading into R1 combos.

Moreover, Wheel dash R1s are incredibly cheap.

wheel can stunlock keeper and bps, and shits all over most big bosses like darkbeast and h/blb because you have time to dashr1>r2>r2 on most openings.
dashr1 and jumping attacks are great for pressure on the wheel, r1 trading doesnt really work out due to the slow swing speed, low rally, and comparatively low damage (wheel will hit them for 400 on r1, i get hit for 600, plus they rally more and have more total hp). untricked hmls is great for pressure and spacing, but you need quite a bit of end to keep the r2's coming. in webm related i wouldnt have a roll left in case he survived or was too far away with 9 end

You overlevel if you want to use all of them. For Chikage and Bloodletter you want 50 BLT. For Rakuyo you want 50 SKL. You could cut some damage of course but I'd rather do two good builds instead of 1 bad/ overleveled one.

Depends on the build. Skill builds go for viscerals- if you're careful, you can sneak up behind the first one for a free backstab right off the bat, and then a parry plus an extra hit or two should put him down. If you kill him before he goes and gets his buddy, the second shouldn't aggro, which means you can drink a blue elixir and sneak around and behind him, and the backstab should almost kill him. An extra charged R2 should do the trick.

Arc builds, rev up those oil urns and get your biggest fire weapon available. If you have a fire Stake Driver especially, that's going to get you a long way. They're incredibly weak to fire, and while you certainly won't oneshot them if you don't have FRC gems, you're still going to do a huge chunk of their health with a charged Stake R2.

Strength builds have it the roughest, since they just have to fight them the old fashioned way, but they have no real reason to go down there since they won't need the Rakuyo anyway.

thurst is a damage type, so a bolt pick will not deal thrust damage anymore, it will be pure bolt.
serrated is a damage modifier, so a fire serrated weapon will get extra damage on beasts twice, once for fire, once for serration
