Depends on if your unit has a specific job or is general use, as well as the colour (specifically if your unit is built to fight its colour as well as its intended targets). If the former then yes, you only need the one hit and your job is done. You'll still be able to fight but ideally it shouldn't be a fight you need QR to win.

If the unit is multipurpose I'm personally not a fan of Fury-QR unless you keep a Reciprocal Aid or Ardent Sacrifice healer in the team.

Ayra is Mia in a game where being Mia doesn't matter when she doesn't have a mount. She's borderline useless past picking off scrubs that anyone could. Her combat is also severely overrated pre-promotion, she requires Astra to kill most targets that aren't Mages. Holyn is much better than her since, even though he's not that good either, he can occasionally kill things without procs.

Mia's significantly more useful because FE10 is a game where having really above-average combat actually matters, not FE4 where everyone not named Arden becomes an ORKO machine with a bit of attention.

Larcei doubly so, at least in FE4 gen1 infantry kind of has a place but in gen2 it's be a mount or go home, Larcei is redundant at best and completely worthless at worst.

Ayra and Mia do have a lot of similarities. They both have good combat at a base, they both have meh concrete durability made up by high avoidance, they both become killing machines when promoted, and they both have access to skills that make them lethal in combat.

The difference; Mia is in a game where;

Rutger can sit in the range of pretty much anything, shrug off damage if it hurts him at all and retaliate with an ORKO against most targets, that's not something most mounted units can claim to be capable of doing as consistently

1-2 range is garbage in FE6, it's almost always better to have a strong 1 range weapon equipped unless you're dealing with complete scrubs like Soldiers or something

Rutger arguably has better 1-2 range with a Light Brand than any non-Mage does with a Javelin/Hand Axe because they're actually complete trash statistically and you don't get any Tomahawks or anything

I've heard that +spd Blucina is a good candidate for Blade, is that really the case? She has ridiculous speed, but 29 base attack doesn't seem that great.

"Capable", not "as capable"

I showed in a playthrough I did here a few months back that 10/1 Lance is great on the West Isles as well, that doesn't mean he's on par with Rutger combat-wise

And West Isles is where Zealot begins to fall off, especially on Echidna's map since he begins to have trouble doubling Fighters

First of all you really don't fight enemy Mages often until pretty late into the game, where Hand Axes/Javelins won't kill them anyways

1-2 range is just too weak Mt wise and unreliable accuracy-wise

Combine this with the fact that FE6 has a hardon for enemy Physic users especially lategame and that means you're sacrificing the ability to kill things at 1 range to chip away at things at 1-2 range that you hit (emphasis on "that you hit"), just to potentially have that work undone by enemy Clerics regardless

Compare this to using a strong 1 range option, where sure you sacrifice hitting 2 range targets (which are not as common in some areas of the game as you seem to think you are) but destroy anything at 1 range, and then next Player Phase you advance and kill the 2 range unit with no trouble

Which is killing more quickly and efficiently, here?

And yes, Rutger with the Light Brand is better than any Javelin/Hand Axe user; fixed 10 damage is roughly the same as almost anyone will do with a 1-2 range weapon, at high accuracy, and when attacked at 1 range he's replying with his full might instead of gimped Hand Axe damage

The only issue is that Light Brands aren't as common, but you have enough uses for all the 1-2 range you'd need him to do anyways

Holy shit echoes is awful. I know it's a remake of gaiden so it's going to be different, but jesus christ. They took out most of the strategy elements and replaced it with infinitely spawning enemies on the world map and cantors infinitely spawning enemies in battles.

I'm on Celica's act 3 (finished Alm's). First of all, Celica's team is shit. Second, There are two places at the ends of the maps constantly spawning enemies that come down the linear path at you. The second you beat one, another is spawned. If two enemies are on a spot at once, you've got an unwinnable battle on your hands. The graveyard keeps respawning the same fucking terror battle over and over, and I can't make any headway.

I originally went north but that made Atlas bitch out and leave, so I had to fight my way back to town to get him, then head west. Battles with 2 enemies on the space in the world map are truly unbeatable, so I have to backtrack and hope they move forward and separate, but that pushes me back and anything I defeat is immediately replaced with another enemy from Grieth's castle. Fuck this shit. I hope whoever came up with it is dead.

On turn 2, Zealot is attacked by an Armor Knight, Mage, and Archer to the top right of the Arena

It's MUCH more preferable to use a Hammer here over a Hand Axe, since he won't kill either 2 range enemy, will fail to kill the Armor, and these 2 range enemies will get healed by the Clerics up top

Or he can use a Hammer to kill the Armor, giving the army room to advance on the 2 range mooks next turn

1-2 range is okay on occasion (Marcus in Chapter 6 makes good use of it) but it's nowhere near the be all end all of Enemy Phase, especially in a game like FE6 where most 1-2 range options honestly suck
