Just gonna point this out again in case someone playing Ao didn't check.

If you're using the voiced patch, and the non voiced one to jump between roms to grab items on the roads without freezing, do no save on normal and load up on voiced, because i'm pretty sure that it somehow reset my DP points back to 0, and reverted my rank after delivering quests in this state. If you want to check voices, save before a story event, open the voiced rom and see the scene, but do not save the game and jump back to normal for road exploring. Hell, for all i know, this may not be a problem with rom jumping, but with the voiced patch itself.

So i usually see people talking about only Xseed, Nisa or Akys for localizing stuff, but what about idea factory? Apparently they're anti censorship, and a lewd game from compile heart called "Mary Skelter Nightmares" that is coming with them as the localizers for the vita, is coming uncensored.

How is are their translations and such? Not really here to talk about how they'd most likely go for easy and money making games instead of Falcom stuff, just curious if anyone is aware of their track record when localizing stuff.

How much dialog and story is there in the finale, and how much input do the two characters teamed up with Kevin and Ries have to include in it?

Im trying to decide whether to just min max all the parties, or group them based on their characters.
Kloe/Julia/Mueller/Olivier might be a really fun party, but I want to use Kloe and Olivier in the final boss fights.

so I just finished zero, feeling a little trails of burnt the fuck out right about now

honestly wasn't as good as I was expecting, especially after all the talking up the game gets

as for the combat... jeez so much was improved by the time cold steel was made...
stat buffs/debuffs degrading over each turning including casting turns makes many of the spells useless (looking at you crest/aqua mirage/fortuna)

fortuna you'd get like a single spell cast for like minimal damage increase it felt like, and crest... more often then not felt like it didn't reduce damage at all (granted I was on nightmare but come on)

combo crafts seem to be the real game breaker here from what I can tell

the quartz mostly feel super weak, at the start of the game you get stuff like "Attack+3%/def-1%" but literally +1atk/-1def for most of the game until you get to the level 3 quartz

Ep cut quartz like... lol... basic spells cost 10 ep, and become 9 ep no matter which EP cut quartz you use... only matters on the higher end spells

Only quartz that seemed to make signatificant difference was the HP3 (15% more HP is never a bad thing), Action 3 (+30% speed more turns the better) and Cast (so you can get off a spell in a reasonable amount of time)

as for the story...
it felt like the ending to Estelle/Joshua/Renne's story more then anything else, the main crew was just dealing with an event that happened to interweave

now I'm sure a lot of this was to setup for Ao... but fuck 80+ hours of game even with me speeding through some of the dialog... and now I hear Ao starts off slow as dirt to boot

sometimes falcom needs to be told "shit or get off the pot"

where cold steel just does so much better... the very start of the game with the atrocious raid, and letting you get some game play before dumping exposition on you. Something Zero did fucking terribly by putting you in that first dungeon to just walk forward like 3 screens then cut... like what was the point?

That's not what he means, he mans like if you cast magic and you have 3 stacks of ATS buff, you will lose one while casting, and another one after casting, and you lose 2 stacks, of any other buff on you. Unlike CS where it only goes down after you finish casting.

Basically buffing was fucking worthless for Elie and Tio and Zero. Only during Ao did they fix it by giving ATS buffs 5 turns.

So far all of the games have been really quite intertwined especially politically, suddenly jumping to the far East would be really jarring. I imagine since Calvard has closer ties to the east we'll get more information and maybe the subseries after it will take place there.
