The reason why stuff had to be replaced is because Archie lost the contracts to certain staffers. This obviously didn't apply to Ian, meaning either they had him resign his contract or the fire happened before he first signed. If it's the latter, then we'd have to go back to when exactly the fire happened. Del Rio's first issue was #151 which was less than a year before Ian started, so it's entirely possible her contract was signed after the fire and thus they'd have the original lying around.

That and Nicole was redesigned anyway.

Yeah I get, but who cares about story as long as the gameplay is good, you know? In terms of structure it could've been better than the aforementioned SA1/2. Sonic and friends head for the goal, there are puzzles to solve and baddies here and there to fight, but generally it's Point A to Point B. No emerald hunting, no shoot game, no fishing, and they're still useful/playable.

My first idea was something along the liens of Super Mario Brothers Z without the Mario parts, or a rehash of the Sonic Heroes plot but with an actual story. I don't want to make any new characters for it, but I'm not against Archie.

First solid concept that comes to mind:

Angel Island will be drifting over South Island within a week. Metal Sonic is waiting for his chance to literally crush Sonic and his friends by draining the Master Emerald of its power at the worst possible moment. Knuckles, Sonic & Tails, and Amy would be involved immediately. Team Dark would get drawn in as GUN catches wind of the event that could potentially cause a Tsunami to hit Station Square during its rebuilding efforts.

Lies. Knuckles was created with the intention of breaking through barriers, alongside being Sonic's Rival. He was always intended to be a Power-type character. In Sonic 3K, he punches the Super out of Sonic, breaks through stone walls, and his idle animations include punching which he uses in cutscenes and his boss fight. Strength was always a major aspect, it's just that from a gameplay perspective, most people only notice gliding and climbing because that's what they actively do while the Power is more passive.

That looks pretty fun, so far. Lots of direction, an upper and lower path, all that. Remember that those spline paths can be distorted to be more than simply straight lines. The little red dots they have can be dragged around to make new twists, turns and banks.

Also, while the level theme is being planned, remember Birthday Bash Zone used textures that were literally just Green Hill, but turned blue and purple. Then I made the lighting suit it. Basically what I'm saying is, maybe start with just selecting colors? Just go into Paint, or Photoshop and put some colors together. Maybe that'll lead to an idea?

1. Chris stole a lot of parts from the game characters, such as Amy with Shadow.

3. The fact he was an unlikable cunt was only brought up once in the Japanese Dub by Eggman, who fucking destroys him.

Chris is a rich boy who's parent's don't see him often enough.
They obviously care about the kid, but work beckons.
