I'm somewhat new to provisioning and need some help. Where do you get all of your ingredients from and how do you manage them? I powerleveled provisioning to 50 and now that I want to start making better stuff, I have to deal with half of my inventory being full of stolen ingredients. Laundering them only gives me 140 a day to put in my bank to free up space. Do I just stop autistically grabbing every ingredient I come across? Is it cheaper to get them from guild traders?

Flag the specific ingredients you want to collect for particular food or foods that you'll be cooking so they aren't junked.

Veteran Ranks don't exist anymore. Instead we have champion points with the gear cap being champion point lvl160 which you can get in a day and best of all, if you get to lvl 50 with a character and then level it up to, say, cp344 and leave it you can create an alt and when you get to your alt at lvl 50 it will be leveled up to cp344. It's account wide.

As for crafting skills it's really not that much of a grind, unless you mean traits in which case yeah. Although they did introduce scrolls that can reduce research time, but for the most part it's either buy those with real money or use valuable crafting writs to get scrolls you can only use every 20 hours or so.

The three different faction stuff is a nonsense idea that if it were to be introduced now, it would have been tossed out before they ever began production.

I mean, it felt like a stuck leftover that Zeni was already regretting the moment the game launched. The Cold Harbour -> You conveniently fall from the sky here in this area of Tamriel and thus you become champion of 1 of 3 factions was already rough enough.

Now at this point in the game's development the only real impact faction has is who you can group with inside Cyrodill

Almost all of the plot can simply be tweaked in script and have the faction-driven element removed while keeping the whole of the experience intact.

The ham-slapping that is the Ebonheart Pact "no more slaves" Argonian-Dunmer is the most frustrating and cringe worthy portion of it all.

Heavy armor = tank and PvP
medium armor = stamina dps
light armor = magicka dps

Considering that you want to be a fire wielding MagDK I'd recommend you go light armor but if fashion is too much of an issue it is also recommended you get 5 /1 /1 because of an undaunted passive. This means if you are a magicka class you get 5 light armor, 1 heavy and 1 medium (5 medium, 1 light and 1 heavy for stamina). Which you can combine in any way you like, for example using heavy chest for a more heavy armor appereance and the like.

best magicka DK build right now is the Lightning Staff heavy attack build, unless you're never in your life going to get a vMA lightning staff. It doesn't put out that much fire damage, but the difference between dunmer and altmer is so negligible you should be a dunmer anyway.

fire-enchanted dual wielding doesn't make sense in the way you're imagining it. However DW 2 swords for the +5% more damage and higher raw damage works for casting some of the DoTs, but it really messes up attack weaving.

the dlc dungeons are much more mechanic heavy, so one of the other players probably went in hoping to be carried, saw what is was and initiated vote kick. not excusing it, just saying there are bads everywhere. the last boss has some fairly easy mechanics and a one shot, but its the boss before her that can suck if people don't follow simple mechanics. its bad enough that they are changing one of the mechanics next patch (during the fight a random player can see portals that adds spawn out of and needs to destroy them fast, people can deliberately fuck over the team by not destroying the portals).

Dual wield will give you more single target dps and some aoe defense with blade cloak, twohander has good group survivibility with brawler giving you a damage shield for each enemy hit, and reverse slice giving you great damage to groups. Dual wield also has a fairly strict rotation, where as twohander is a bit more loose. Dual wield needs to farm/buy/etc. a second weapon for their bar, but because of this they can wear two 5 piece sets and a monster set (5 piece body, 3 piece jewelry and 2 weapons, 2 piece monster set) while twohander won't get a monster 2 piece.

Personally, I think twohander is more fun so i go with that. if I am 5% behind in damage what I could be doing, I'm ok with that.

So I'm thinking of finally trying out vMA, I'm a cp432 dark elf mag dk running dual staff/ 5 piece silks of the sun/4 piece moondancer. Is this a decent enough setup to clear it first try? So I have kind of a lore question to ask here since I dunno if I want to ask in /tesg/ at the moment. What does everyone here think education is like in the elder scrolls universe? I mean we never see any public schools or anything, and otherwise based on the fantasy-medieval type setting I would assume that's because it doen't really exist. Of course colleges and universities exist, but those are forms of higher education avavlible to those who are weathly/tallented/generally just folks who seek them out, rather than the common man. Not to mention that such schools are for those who are a bit older, not children. So I suppose that it should be assumed that the common person has a lack of formal education, if at all.

Other than that, would it be assumed that much like the real world the various races typically have a lack of understanding not only the various aspects of other races' cultures, but also the gods and such whom they worship? For instance those who aren't orcs probably wouldn't know too much about Malacath, non-dark elves wouldn't possess a ton of knoeledge on the tribunal, anyone but nords wouldn't have extensive knowledge of Kyne, and so on. It just seems like a bit of a stretch to me to think that anyone but the most educated and/or well traveled people around would have much to say about the gods and goddesses who they themselves do not particularly worship, if they even happen to know of the existence of all the significant aedra, daedra, divines and other types that is.

but in Oblivion same with the chapels, and if an NPC wanted learn more about certain things they could seek knowledge themselves by collecting books or going to a books store. An example of this would be the Wood elf who came all the way from Valen Wood to the ImpCity to buy a book and learn more about Mancar Cameron by acquiring his commentary on the Mysterium Xarxis. Since Cyrodiil is very cosmopolitan, because it's the center, books and the ability to acquire knowledge on certain subjects is very accessible. Also in Oblivion apprenticeship were a thing, people in the lower caste acquired a skillset rather than an education. In Skyrim, i think the populace is just retarded tho, thye are surprised by curved swords.

Yes, and there's a twist to it since the same gods are in one form or another worshiped in different cultures but with slight variations, resulting in *your* race having the right interpretation while the other races. Alduin known from Skyrim, Akatosh from the Imperial pantheon and the elven god Auri-El is by some considered to be the same entity.

The alliances also means that cultures clash. In Stormhold there's a Nord talking about a Hist and an Argonian correcting him, claiming that it's common knowledge what the Hist is while the Nord think the Argonian is a prick for assuming it.

You also have cultural differences within the races where each part care or know little about the other. There's a sharp difference between Ashlander and Tribunal Dunmers. Same with Argonians born in slavery compared to the Black Marches. And there's at least 4 distinct Orsimer cultures (Worshipers of Malacath, worshipers of Trinimac, Wood orsimer and Stone orsimer).

Yet the Bosmer are supposed to be very curious by nature and talented in the pursuit of knowledge and higher thinking. Maybe that is related to how readily they accept outsiders in Valenwood, and the cheery ease with which they adapt to any province they move to despite often being treated dismissively as the 'least of the elves'. They are very much philosophical and cultural shapeshifters who are all about adaptation.

I believe they ajusted leveling speed a while back, so that early levels take longer to get while later ones are faster? Not sure if it's that or the other way around, but overall it should take about the same speed to get to level 50, just that it aught to feel smoother and like you are making more gradual progress. How much resource each heavy attack gives? I heard that it was 5% before morrowind. They buffed it 30% so base value must be 8% without cp's. You can add 15% from cps which makes it close to 9%. If you use resto staff it adds 30% more. and if you wear 5 heavy armor it increases 25%.

I mean you could, but the problem with stam dps on warden is that you lack a dot ability and most of your other dps skills are delayed. Cliff racer is good, shalks take time to appear and fletcherflies are a mag skill.

If you play a stamdk as dps then you will likely be using many weapon skills aswell, but stamdk has access to 2 useful stam skills fordps, one ofwhich is a dot. Most stam dps users will rely on weapon skills no matter the class, it's just that warden in particular has some trouble preforming in a pve dps role when compared to other stam dps classes. They can be quite good pvp and alright for single target damage however, but most people stick by stamdk when it comes to stam dps, despite lacking in the way of options when it comes to class skills that use stamina.

Know how you used to toss a weapon skill on your bar to level the weapon skill line, but the skill itself wouldn't gain any xp? Either that was changed or its broken. Leveling up a new stam character and I put volley on their front bar to keep bow leveled. Never used it, just killed enough shit with a bow to hit level 4 to unlock it then put it on my twohander bar, and I was just able to morph it.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you were trying to say but yes. If you want to level up a skill you have to gain experience when the bar in which is on is active. What I do is in my front bar have my combat skills with maybe one skill I want to level up that won't use, a backbar full of stuff I want to level up and quest around. When I handle the quest I switch to my backbar to get all the exp on those missing skills

Right, that is what you do. What I am saying is that I've been going around on my alt using a twohander, and had volley on my bar to get bow xp. The volley skill itself was also gaining xp without ever having a bow equipped, and I was able to morph it.

To clarify further, I only had one bar unlocked, had volley on that bar while I had a twohander equipped. Not only was I gaining bow skill line xp as usual, the volley skill itself was gaining xp.
