No UNIEL apologist has ever put forward an argument explaining why GRD is fun, exciting, cool, etc. That's because it's not cool. It's totally arbitrary, has no aesthetic representation, and doesn't make the game any more exciting. All you will get from UNIEL apologists is:

So I bought BBCF since it's on sale and to get some practice in for BBCTB. Jesus this game is unfriendly towards beginners. I picked Ragna because he's the protagonist and usually that means the best character to learn the game with, turns out I need to learn several different basic BNB's depending on the character I'm facing, if they're crouching and how close to the corner I am. There is no basic universal BNB. These aren't necessarily bad things, in fact I think they're pretty good for advanced combos once people have been playing a while and want to optimize but to force someone new to the game to sit in training mode for hours before even playing is just not going to encourage them to play.

At least in SF/GG/Tekken I can learn a basic combo, my anti-airs, a super combo, basic oki and just start playing. I really want to hit multiplayer already in BB, but I feel like I've got to sit and learn a bunch of different situational combos which at first I'll fuck up a lot because it's not in my muscle memory or I'm trying them in the wrong situation.

Most characters do have a standard go-to BnB, pretty sure Ragna does too but I really don't play him at all this version. I play Mu-12 and I have pretty much a go-to combo off any 2B, that can be optimized based on range and cornercarry along with other stuff, so it's not a non-existant thing.
