Legion is also a good option. He's got a better offensive spread than Anna and slightly better physical defense, but much worse res. Won't survive thundercock but will fare better vs physical melee blues.

If you picked him up in the recent GHB, Michalis is also an option. Also won't survive thundercock, but is a great green physical wall.

Hard, I only played normal the first time in Japanese so I could get a feel for things later, my most recent run was as encounterless as possible so I only got Celica to level 16 before promotion, which means getting Ragnarok at level 5. If it's not enough to kill she'll probably get nuked to death which means having to use a weaker spell the first turn. Beating him gets rid of his adds so it helps with clearing the map quickly, especially since you need to wait until like turn 7 otherwise when it's doable in about 3-4 without him there.

My -RES +DEF Faye ended up being really good in TT after I finally managed to build her up, she was trash initially. Still gonna feed her bow off eventually, but in the meanwhile I'll cap her HM and she has my gratitude.

As for Tobin, my ultimate build for him would involve Slaying Edge/Swap/Bonfire or Ignis/Distant Counter/Quick Riposte/Threaten Attack, so that's going to take a while. I believe I'll get there someday though, and will revise my plans as they roll out new skills and weapons.

The issue with this is that you are ALWAYS against AI, even if the team is made by a human. It doesn't matter if you can make every unit viable because it will never be a challenge because AI isn't as clever as humans. Sure the victory is much more satisfying using units other players have deemed unusable, but it doesn't mean much to anyone else.

Water Boost is okay actually. Ignoring dragons for a moment, the only mages that can overrule Berkuts Water Boost are Henry (lol) Boey (lol) Sophia (LOL) and Robin (LOL).

If you want to think positive, you can argue that with Fortify, Water Boost and his lance, you are looking at a very good mage bait. If you got Distant Defense to waste, even better.
