I find the grinding for cards bad but the partying,, group play in general and skills to be unmatched.

I played WoW once and it's always he same fucking garbage, you have a rotation for every class, and classes are too similar to each other, despite having like 6 of them. Meanwhile RO's class builds make a huge difference, say how a Combo Monk is different from a Spirit on, or a GC Crusader vs a Shield Crusader vs a Devotion Crusader.

The way skills interact with each other is pretty interesting in RO too, you have all those extra uses for the skills, how you can use Improve Concentration to reveal cloaked/hidden things nearby, how Blessing can be used offensively against Undead and Demons, and so on. You have shitloads of skills and they even have their particular uses.

I'm not sure I follow the "most skills are useless", try playing a wizard and tell me most skills are useless. Try a priest too and say the same. Some classes have plenty of useless skills like all the traps for hunters, but you still have a nice degree of variety of hunter builds regardless.

Also the very concept of a build is more present in RO than in WoW, in the latter you just pick talents, which is analogous to the Skill Trees of RO, but there are no stats and it's really hard to screw a character up, no depth in making efficient builds, knowing stat bonuses for maximum efficiency on whatever role you want to fulfill. RO is simply more of a RPG than WoW with this, too.

Never played renewal, can someone help me out with stat distribution for restart? When it says "every 5 points" does it mean base points or would for instance 61+4 also work to obtain the stat bonus?

Just check out ways to make zeny relatively fast and invest in that to accelerate your income to try and stay ahead of inflation. Check popular selling cards and gear and try to keep your increase of profits above their increase in price, I've noticed bathory cards go from 1.5-1.7m up to 3-3.5m in the last week or so, fortunately my increase in income has a lot more than doubled so thats ok, I could afford them previously, and i can more than afford them even at the inflated price

I'm a sea nigger playing on phRO right now, it's not half bad. All of the farming maps have merchants willing to buy your stuff at OC prices, while also selling discount reds and arrows. Cities are filled with merchants selling random things, supplies and stuff, quest areas and NPCs are slightly surrounded by people selling overpriced quest items.

Despair be upon you if you're a priest, though. Dozens of randoms asking for "baps" can get annoying.

But RO was literally made for this fuckhuge population. MVP competition is supposed to be fierce. The most telling aspect of it are the card drop rates, the game was made with mobs being slaughtered over and over again everywhere, given the 0.01% drop. This is why kRO worked without bots, because there were so many people killing all kinds of things, cards surely came to place.

With less players, even a 2k population will have trouble sustaining the enormous demand for cards, therefore botting. You could say this is a flaw of RO, where things only come into place with a riduclous amount of players.
