Whew I beat it on my first try, mastered it too. Geo gets pretty cheap there at the end, huh? It was nothing but consecutive attacks over and over. I got cute and tried a Waterga Strike to get the medal and before I knew it 3/5s of my party was down. Waterga Strike ended up being the killing move, if it had lasted 2 or 3 seconds longer I would've lost.

I also learned that Entrust doesn't work in JS Missions for some reason.

Some advice for people that rolled Hyper Mighty G for Rikku: Gear her as a RW for mind. It increases the duration of the protect/shell/haste, which can make a difference sometimes.

Yuna, Rikku, and Terra only have burst soul breaks (BSB2 for Yuna). Onion couldn't use anything else but BSB to help with damage. Braska used his Summoner's Dream super soul break, and he also cast the roaming warrior when needed.
Felt pretty close to folding to an actual A-Team to get the first clear, but thankfully squeaked out mastery after a while of fine tuning the team comp.

PS, cycled out through a few level 99 characters (Seymour w/burst, Edge w/burst & last stand SSB, Minfilia w/SSB, Y'shtola w/burst & Stoneskin II) before settling on Braska, as he was the next best thing I had in the realm. Auron is also level 80 and has Riot Blade, same with Tidus and that three-hit water super soul break. Three uses of those wouldn't have been enough - fuckin' team comp posted was barely enough in the first place.
No wall was scary when it came to Tsunami, but Yuna & Thunder God's Might helped immensely at the start. At 75% health or so, I had to start using my RW to heal & to put up last stand. All instances of last stand ran out at the end, so it was a pretty tight finish.

Pretty much, I think RW was as close to a real "sequel" to 12 as we'll ever get since it focused mainly on Vaan and Penelo. TA2 had them as pretty important characters but it wasn't about them. I'd really like their TA2 outfits as wardrobes in RK someday, I feel like it made me like Vaan more slightly.

Not the same guy. I was more concerned with quick clears than defense so Tyro never came into my considerations. Earlier I was doing Y'shtola and Wakka instead with Rikku's USB as RW for coverage, but because Regurgitate becomes nearly instant in the weak phase healing doesn't really keep up if you don't kill fast.

I keep being surprised at how all my 1/11 duds keep pulling through. Jecht's SSB has a Shout boost and Dark, so piling damage is almost a no-brainer. Funnily enough, now that I'm free of the CM it turns out I only need to swap out Yuna for Y'shtola to get what I'd consider an optimal build anyway.

Well there's nothing you can farm that will go away. But the items you can exchange the materials you get from the fight do change.
Sadly I can't tell you what boss you should fight to get the materials for it because I've gotten them all(except for these summon tickets that you could only get by fighting ultima weapon and that was a really hard battle that was basically unwinnable unless there were at least 2 people with supreme cards.
Anyways go to the mp exchange and check it out yourself.
You should prioritize getting any crystals, mog amulets, phoenix downs, elixers, weapons, and obviously any summon tickets that don't require some ultima weapon material.

Cloud is my only real damage source. If I try taking out one of the healers to put in a second damage dealer everyone dies from no heals early on, if I drop minfillia I lose haste and full break, zack makes cloud's damage good

After using him so much, I'm considering saving my motes to LD Delita when his time comes for that sweet doublecast, but that's still a maybe unless I can land his USB in which case I'll go through with it. This being the PSP version I can't give an accurate summation of where it stands (you couldn't defend even in the GBA port) but honestly, despite its weirdness, it's not BAD per say. It's far from intolerable. The two problems I have with it come down to it being way too easy to exploit it for fast leveling, and having to grind the shit out of spells to level them up.

There is no gambit for making them steal until they succeed. If you give a character an "Enemy HP = 100%, Steal" set-up, you can have that character steal once or twice from monsters before the other characters start damaging them. But you will find situations where you'll want to turn that off, mostly when you get mobbed by a bunch of enemies.

If you absolutely have to get a stolen item off of some enemy, do it manually.

The bonus dungeons in FF2 are a bit more fun than the bonus dungeons in FF1. The rewards for completing them are an "ultimate" weapon for each character, but you pretty much have to use a guide if you want to succeed at that. And doing it will make you grossly overpowered for the main game.
