I've played classic JRPGs before, so I'm familiar with grinding. Only thing I'm worried about is the older style of negotiations. P5 simplified it by just TELLING you what every personality type liked, and when I played SMT4 and Soul Hackers, I couldn't tell if it was all random, or if it operated under a logic I was too dumb to figure out. With 1 and maybe 2 (I didn't remember having this problem with 2, though), I don't have any idea what these demons like, and I barely ever can get them Eager, as opposed to... uh, whatever the orange one in the top-right means.

Also, of COURSE I'm going for Reiji, the Takashifags are part of the reason I'm doing this.

I don't care, I REFUSE to be yet another of those "dur, only 3-5 are any good" shitters. I want to at least play the fucking game myself, and give an honest opinion on it besides "I quit because I hate these fucking grids".

Negotiations always had a random degree to them before P5 that was more than just risk/reward for more yen/items. P1 is no different. It isn't dreadful but it'll obviously be worse than P5 which has the best negotiations in the series.

The weirdest thing will be getting back into this mindset for PERSONA, because in the Hashino games, you don't grind to make your numbers bigger, you grind to make a specialized Persona.
For instance, if Shadow Teddie is kicking your ass, you make a Persona that nulls ice and packs Mediarama. As I understand, every Persona has a moveset that can't be changed, which will be weird to get used to.
