So a friend just had me watch some Injustice 2 matches from Evo where a dude just did a shit ton of chip damage to win matches and it got me wondering, in Tekken can the chip damage from blocking Akuma's fireballs KO you? I've never seen it happen and the chip damage seems barely noticable so I was curious.

The one I got is about 40something tracks long, but if you look it up on youtube or something, you can find playlists that have 60+ tracks, all of which are from the game.

Is the one that is 60+ tracks the console OST while the 40 one is the cabinet version? Like the one I have is missing the Mishima Building tracks ("Electrified").

if you know the other player is antsy and buttons-y, you're better off staying on the ground until they whiff something big on top of you, or hit you with something so you can immediately get up (having taken some damage).

for example, you mention he hit you with a low-high launcher. the only ones he has a counter hit combos, so either you pressed something on wake up or you were neutral blocking, but either way, you could have taken the low hit on the ground, tech rolled up, and taken your turn or even punished the high attack of the string.

FC df3 is a sweep that knocksdown and gives a free one at the wall. U can do a dirty 50/50 with this and her orbital which hits grounded

U can do bok3 which is a high homing and is +9 on block so they have to take a mixup

U can splat with ff1+2 throw

Her df3 and qcf3+4 are both safe homing mids that wallsplat

U can do db1+2,1+2 I think it is shenanigans the animation is like fusion in dbz. So like db1+2, db1+2, db1+2 db1+2,1+2 w!

If they low get up kick and u block it her 11f ws punish also splats (ws4,1+2)

Mix these all up and it's over for your opponent

i can't deny that claudio's tools are effective at what they do, but that also means that you don't really have anything to surprise your opponent

f+3 is super solid, but it's still -9, and it's still super whiff-punishable, and you have no alternative mid poke that may have shorter range but isn't as easily whiff-punishable, for example

the limitations claudio has (weak mixup potential because of incosequential lows mainly) make him very straightforward in terms of his gameplan, but leave little room to experiment and surprise your opponent.
the ss4/ss mid mixup is functional and simple, there's no surprise there. there's no low launchers, there's no huge ch setups, everything is nice and normal and tame and you're gonna feel that once you get into a situation where you're down 60% life because of a mistake early in the round and need to literally hit your opponent 5-7 times with your lows just to equalize and put them in a situation where they would start bothering to even block them.
you also generally have no oki off of the usual kncockdown situations unless you're willing to sacrifice combo enders for it, and even then your wakeup pressure is still tame and not that rewarding.

if you enjoy chipping your opponent down with a constant barrage of quick lows and mids, claudio's not your character.
if you enjoy having big booty mid ch buttons that go into 60+ damage combos, claudio's not your char.
if you enjoy having risky high-impact 50/50s, claudio's not your char.
if you enjoy knocking your opponent down and staying on them and not letting them breathe, still not your character.

claudio's only effective gameplan is to stay at range 1-2 and keep the opponent out with f+3 and the threat of whiffpunishes with the hopkick. that's what he excels at, and there's nothing else he's good at whatsoever. even the godlike stb f+1+2,1+2 still fulfills the same purpose, and the other stb tools are pretty mediocre at what they do.

You can't a full combo off of it anymore since console release, it got nerfed so the animation doesn't allow a full juggle. qcb+4 is guaranteed after it though. Even though we meme about characters, anyone can get to any rank using whatever. There are red rank+ Gigas players out there. The only difference is how fast it takes. You can pick Kat or Eddy and unga your way up to orange ranks in a few days. but once you get there you're gonna get exposed hard for being the fraud that you are. I see plenty of Leo, Drag and Xaioyu players with like 600wins stuck in yellow ranks. You really do have to actually learn to play the game regardless of who you pick.
