Long combos are way more boring. Combos should never be more than 8 moves, and wall combos should only add another 3 or so. Cut scene moves should last around 3 seconds.

V-Skill is all about spacing. Sadly, it is usually save at a distance where the opponent jumps in. So make sure, that they won't jump at you first. That's where EX high parry comes into play. HCB + 2 punch buttons for a fast AA that really hurts.
A common online thing is also dash up low counter or a mid counter after a blocked EX hands.

You can slip one frost touch directly after lp parabellum, that catches unfamiliar opponents who want to punish

If you're a madman you can whiff a frost touch and then do a frost touch when the guy mistimes his punish. The move's recovery is faster than it seems.

If you're in the right angle you can anti-air with v-skill instead of air parry, that'll save you from empty jumps baits

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

You shouldnt play someone with no defense and with awkward moves and low health as a beginner. You need to know how to block and defend in order to survive. You wont know how to do that as Amane as a beginner. If you are actually good at other fighting games and not really a beginner, go nuts. Wont take long to get basics from that starting point. Pick Ragna, Jin, Azrael, etc and have an uppercut and good health and defensive options while you learn the basics of the game otherwise.

Yeah, it's on the DLC tab on the PSN. It's no different to downloading a piece of DLC.

It's DLC so yeah, the physical disk works perfectly fine.

As for Zato, he's probably the hardest character in the game to get a handle on because the timing of your button presses actually matters because Eddy moves based on negative edges. It's going to take a very long time to do even the basic shit consistently, so don't get discouraged.

Because season 2 dlc characters were supposed to be season 1 dlc characters and the season 1 dlc characters were supposed to be in the game on release, a release that would have been at least 6 months later than march 2016. Just having new characters, plus akuma i guess, as dlc would have been much more palatable in the game's first year when there's still plenty to explore. People who are bored of the game and want something new aren't going to be satisfied by new characters, even though I think kolin and ed were both pretty good and interesting. I like playing them and I like playing against them.

If you want to play Zato on pad you have to reassign all your buttons to the shoulder buttons. Something like this:

I don't really mind the new characters. I've enjoyed Kolin and Ed, even though I'm sticking more to Kolin. I'll give Abigail a fair chance, but I usually don't like big bodies. Not sure how Menat and Zeku will play out, hopefully similar but still different enough to justify being different characters from Rose and Guy.

I hope S3 brings back fan favorites for people who really want them but still introduce 1 or 2 new characters, specially from Final Fight.

Can I ask you a question /fgg/? I'm not trying to shitpost, I'm being really serious. It's secret that people fucking HATE Capcom and SFV. The amount of pure disgust thrown at them, SFV, and MvCI is completely pervasive to anyone who enters any discussion about them online. People hate the graphics, people hate the gameplay, people hate the characters, and people even hate some of the players. This is all fact.

With all that being said, how did SFV top 8 get 200,000+ viewers, without even factoring in the viewers on two separate TV networks and the viewers on various off-streams? These numbers beat out all of the games played that day, even the ones played at prime time. What's more, all of those games have received near-universal praise from critics, players, and spectators alike, whereas SFV has been almost universally panned by those groups, to the point where positive sentiment towards the game is expressed by a very quiet and small minority, and any praise towards it or the company will label you as a shill or a plebeian.

It just doesn't add up. How did a game that is so vitriolically despised by such a large number of people still manage to do so well in terms of viewership, to the point where it actually beat out all of its competitors?

The most important thing for a fighting game is its playerbase. If it has no players, there is no one to fight.

SF will ALWAYS have more players than every other game. The only game that could even begin to threaten it is a Tekken-like game with less stiff movement but that's unlikely. Plus, the fact that it HAS improved from its launch (even though the improvement is very slight) means more people are going to come to it.

When SFV Top 8 got 200,000 viewers, it wasn't because people wanted to see SFV. It's because they wanted to see the players that play SFV.
