Mindrazor is good but nowhere near the apocalyptic rape it was on tabletop.

Put of Shade is very good, one of the better damage spells especially since it doesn't have movement governed by random chance, which is what hobbles most vortexes.

High Magic is all 8 winds refined together, but for the most part only Slann and Elves can use that difficulty of magic without going bonkers or being corrupted by it. Dark Magic is similar to High Magic in that it uses multiple lores, but instead of refining it users just basically brute force any winds near them into their spells, which tends to be dangerous for the caster, and is much more prone to chaos. Just look at what it did to people like Nagash or the Necrarchs. Part of the reason humans shouldn't attempt high magic is because they're almost certain to flub it and produce dark magic instead. Necromancy is a form of dark magic discovered and perfected by Nagash that's focused around the undead and death in general. Pretty much all of the lores that aren't High, 8-Wind or Greenskin are just different disciplines of Dark magic really, like the Skaven lores, Beastmen magic, the Chaos lores, etc. Greenskin magic is more psychic shit than typical magic really, it's basically the same as 40k orks.

Necrarchs are the way they are because they're Vampires who try to find a way to subsist on magic instead of drinking blood from the living - because they want to create a world filled with dead like Nagash and Arkhan, but Vampires who derive from Neferata's Elixir of Life need blood (unlike those who took Nagash's Elixir). All Vampires use Dark Magic, but some first generation ones like Neferata haven't shriveled up because they take regular doses of blood.

Right, I found issues 6-8 of the Citadel Journal which was during Warhammer Fantasy 4th edition. They contain a Norse army so this is a good place to start. I must say it has special characters and lots of options so how much gets in I don't know (as it is 4th edition, some is outdated).
