It's entirely possible you'll want 5 of the Black Cowls, as they're very good defensively. The high SPR helps everyone. I would put a minimum of 3.
As for Bracers, 2 should be your minimum, with no maximum. The eventual addition of 10 man content means that accessory will never truly fall out of fashion.

Black Cowls are outclassed by prishe's hat for damagers and Aria's hat for everyone else. And Fohlen's helm for damagers who need helmets (aka anyone with a spear).
5 is ridiculous overkill. 2 is more than you would ever really hope for.

10man content doesn't mean 10 physical attackers or even 10 units either. There's usually a physical part of the fight AND a magical one, and like most content your supports remain pretty static. You only swap 2, maybe 3 units around. And you still never go too far past the 2dps core.
The fact that Desch's TM beats out bracers in terms of ATK only further delegates them to the backburner.

What I'm saying is: Skills are way more important than stats. Look for epsers like Golem with killers and provoke, or Ifrit with killers.
Carbuncle with the bar spells and cura is also nice.

Focus on skills first, then minmax stats. The minmax barely makes a difference, so it's your last priority.
