Random idea for the magic (Anima) triangle; each element is associated with a movement type in both effectiveness and possible promotions.
Fire is associated with Armor. Fire users can promote into armored Barons, but Armor and Fire are vulnerable to Thunder.
Wind goes with Cavalry. Wind users can promote into horseback Valkyries but are vulnerable to Fire.
Thunder is related to Fliers. Thunder users promote into airborne Stormtroopers, but are vulnerable to Wind.
Barons, Valkyries and Stormtroopers all gain a physical weapon type on promotion. Mages can also choose to promote into Anima Sages, who gain an additional magic type of their choice or the ability to use staves. Vulnerabilities do not stack; for example a Baron is not more vulnerable to Thunder than a Fire Mage or an Armor Knight, but is still vulnerable to Armorslayers etc.
Also, dunno if the physical weapons gained should also fit into the weapon triangle. Something like Armor Fire Axes, Flyer Thunder Swords and Cavalry Wind Lances would mean there's three levels of effectiveness going concurrently.

If I give her Fury 3 she has 37 speed and 35 Res, but she takes 6 damage every turn. Darting would help her double more cleanly with 40 Speed.

Alright, well -
If you can manage it, close defense brings him up to 37 defense and 34 resistance when attacked. This makes it so that he can successfully wall most physical attackers that aren't green as well as Dragons too, giving him a viable Niche as a mixed wall.
Obviously, you don't want quick riposte, because every single trade will end it with him being doubled, and him being doubled means that someone gets melted in the face by an 18 damage bonfire. Quick riposte!

Less viable and also more expensive is giving him distant counter that he does not have the resistance for, but if you put a fortify and Ward cavalry behind him then he will be able to once again wall bows daggers and magic and kill everything that tries to attack him. There are better people than him for this, so there's no point in killing a Hector for it.

Finally, you can go full retard and put a Cavalry Ward and fortify behind him and give him fury and Brash assault. It fits his character, while it doesn't fit his Lance, but you can send him in and just have him double everything to death while staying alive due to his buffs.
