hots by far, I despise so many of the awful design decisions in overwatch. 80% of the minds are fucking awful to play, especially 2cp which turns into an endless stallfest where you either don't kill Mercy and she flies out of spawn and rezzes, or you do kill her first but it doesn't matter cause the enemy stalled for 8 seconds so she flies out of spawn and rezzes everyone anyways.

There's also just obnoxious design choices like giving snipers wallhacks on a cooldown, I don't give a shit how viable those snipers are that will always be something I hate about the game and is just infuriating to play against.

Funnily enough the most frustrated I've gotten at hots has been versus Genji who's even more braindead easy here than in OW, because in OW you at least have characters who can match his mobility and go through his deflect

The only issue with him I have is that, while I do top damage often, there's a lot of AOE and it gets distributed among the enemy team. Can't really focus damage on one target like you can with Valla or Raynor.

something like no auto attacker/% dmg vs chogall or having no cc vs genji, illidan, tracer, etc. and you just get rolled over

The patch that changed that also bugged it out so it does the minimum damage if it lands after you die (before that patch it would do max damage).

But the main problem with the cast animation isn't the chance of being interrupted, it's the fact that your tiny-aoe ultimate is hits 1.25 seconds after you press the button.

Stay on the out skirts of fight near people that can help peel off of you and just poop daggers at the enemy team. Don't force dark arrows, but provide any pressure you can. Remember that your TP isn't that good. Help finish off people but always keep in mind how easily you die.

Your main job at ten is getting a good ult off. If you land a good ult you've done your part and they should die.

If an objective fight turns sour go eat a fort unless someone that can come fuck you up is still alive. Go get a camp if it's too dangerous.

Slyv is good at increasing gains and damage control. On Braxxis for instance all your Zerg waves are better and you can poop lots of damage on enemy Zerg waves. If you wipe an enemy team and get a full Zerg waves, you will almost always take a barracks.

In team fights she is basically decent in the beginning with Silince arrow, Great at cleaning up, but pretty meh in the mid-fight.

Talent wise I think the decision between double wave and healing dagger is pretty important. Sometimes you just need that healing dagger.

Why do people here complain about Nova? I mean of course she's not Genji tier but as long as you don't plan on participating at HGC, every hero will work out in some way or another, and Nova is by far not the worst one out there.
On my travel through Diamond I met some Novas of which noone was really "useless piece of shit". It was completely the opposite, those Novas did some decent damage, roamed pretty well and picked up squishy targets. Also the ults were on point, all of them took Orbital Strike and used it when needed (even when Nova wasn't even there she still looked at map and helped with ult ontop of someone's CC to make it guaranteed.
Quickmeme is of couse not to be taken seriously (yeah I had some Novas there who prefer to stand AFK instead of helping) but overall in ranked I never saw Nova being gargabe.

Because GM players shit on nova for the fact that she doesn't bring enough power to objectives or to wave clearing, and her bribe is too weak to get consistent value out of unless the enemy team is playing stupidly. You also have to remember that there are a lot of complaints this season, as the game has successfully brought in an influx of new players, so suddenly there's a load of people who have no idea how to appropriately play around Nova, or god forbid, Zeratul, and are getting absolutely destroyed by them and other special characters. I feel like Pudge would literally eat most of the HotS cast alive if scaled up to their level. Nah, he doesn't even do that much damage past a certain level, especially on tanky carries. Also he is not tanky at all, he gets HP from passive yes, but those 500-1K bonus HP tend usually be rather useless in lategame since if you build him tanky you won't provide necessary support and be useless except for your hook.
I often got attacked by such pudges while playing phantom assassin and killing him suddenly with 2 crits. Imagine here Stitches pulls someone and gets instantly oneshotted by this guy.
So in dota pudge right now is 100% roaming support, not even a frontline tank like in HotS

If you havent checked the patches in awhile, I said that I thought ricing would come back because the "spawn every 2 minutes" shit in the jungle got reverted. I think their bounties got reduced by 10%, but now all the camps respawn every minute like they used to, making stacking and jungling overall better than it was before I'd assume.

Oh god. If you thought 6.79-6.82 fucked things up, 7.00 was on a whole different level. Long story short, they sort of copy-pasted shrines and talents from this game, but implemented them in a really shitty way that fucked up the meta hard. They've nerfed some aspects of shrines since, but I'll talk about them as they were on-release.
Dota's shrines are wayyyyy better than HotS shrines. You right click on one, and it triggered an absolutely enormous AoE HP/mana heal (like 1000 each or some shit, scaling up as the game went on) in about a 1000 radius over 6 seconds or so. AND you could TP to them. AND the 5-minute cooldown on them was not shared. AND there were two in each jungle, and FIVE near the tier 3's in base. AND they were completely invulnerable until all tier 2's fell. Basically, if you took a teamfight around them, you auto-won it. You could not roam and jungle gank. It also made mid and offlane almost unlosable. Mid got a free heal after consumables, and offlane had that + big camp + medium camp + ancients + they removed magic immunity on ancients in favor of huge magic resist. Safelane was borderline unwinnable, especially against lane bullies like Axe, Undying, or Huskar.
Talents replace stats and are extremely fucking lame. You get to pick from two at 10, 15, 20, and 25. 80% of them are just inflated versions of stat leveling, i.e. "+15 armor" or "+25 attack speed" or "+10% lifesteal". Giving damage/effectiveness to a specific spell existed on maybe every third hero, and actually interesting talents are few and far between. Level 25 versions were almost the same thing, except ridiculously busted numbers-wise. +40 more damage per duel kill on LC, 200 attack range on Silencer, double bash chance on Spirit Breaker, 6x crit on Tusk ult, you get the picture. Half the time they didn't even make fucking sense either. CM and Lion got +50 ATTACK damage at level 10. Lich got +150 attack damage at 20 and a free Skadi at 25. Shit was dumb.

Dont diss the carry support dreams. You dont realize youre in danger until an offlane "gonna have your mama" Lich rolls up to you with all his extra ranged creep denial xp, a moonshard, +150 damage, a free skadi slow, nukes and slows out the ass, and spooky ghost floating. He's like a ranged Abaddon with more magic or some shit. Those damage talents are purely for options, or better wave clear, or something. Techies got +300 bonus attack damage at lvl 25 not too long ago too. Literally free Divine Rapier

Also, I have to elaborate on Monkey King, because he was THAT bad. First actually new hero to Dota 2 that wasn't in Dota WC3 previously. Hero was beyond retarded. Q was fissure that didn't block and did 2x crit on his autoattack damage. W let him jump on trees, invisible without flying vision, and continue hopping from tree to tree on a 3s cooldown, for no mana, but with a blink dagger-style cooldown if you got hit. E was tied to W and was a chargeable damage slam/AoE slow that could only be used from trees. Cutting his tree stunned him for 4 seconds, which was unlikely because they "conveniently" gimped every source of flying vision significantly too. His D is a passive. This was the fun part. Hit an enemy hero with a long debuff (15s or so) that refreshes on hit, kinda like Ursa, but it does nothing until it hits 4 stacks. Once it hits 4, all marks disappear, and he gains 80-200 bonus damage with 30%-60% lifesteal. I didn't mistype that, he got free TA level 4 shield at level one. And the lifesteal/damage fully works on the Q. His F was an innate ability that literally just turns him into random crap like trees, runes, and couriers and shit for free. You had to hit him to reveal him. His ult made a bunch of clones of himself in like a 1200 radius that attack people with all of his attack modifiers for 15 seconds or so, including basher and shit. They disappeared if he left the AoE though. Was like Ember/Kunkka on crack. Took them way too long to nerf him down to a reasonable level. He's kind of like Dota-Genji now that I think about it, but somehow 5x worse.

I used to love the shit out of Dota, and then around 6.79 or so the dev team went full retard and started getting more and more brain damage over time until we hoho-haha'd our way into octameme and dragon lanced a whole lot of Invoklinkz so hard that we Monkey Kinged a shrinetalent and needed no introduction. I get mad at HotS sometimes and stupid shit like Genji, but I can't even be mad because Genji isn't half as retarded as the shit that pissed me off in Dota. Not to mention their hate boner for CM and Storm. Fuck that shit.

I quit because of burnout from trying to do pic related every season. When the third one came out from another "pls buy compendium" round of the fall majors (2016?), I just gave up and went to Memewatch fulltime. Then I got dragged in from the first Nexus Challenge and have been here ever since. It wasn't that I hated the game or anything, I just couldn't deal with standing the thought of having to play 24/7 just to satisfy my OCD and/or watch others throw games to do it. And I was already playing so much Dota that I was feeling burnout anyway so the compendium shit just let me make a decision sooner than later.

Really sad to hear about how the game's become since I left. I miss it a lot.
I never read up on Monkey King so every time somebody starts complaining about him, all I see is horror.

To be fair, Storm had a long history of being fucking ridiculous. He's just zipzap his way to victory a lot of the time, he had to be taken down a peg.
CM... I dont get why she's been shat on a lot. She's strong at what she does, but she has some big weaknesses. I always draw a lot of parallels between her and Lion for having mana sustain, 2 stuns, and some damage, but why doesnt he get hit with the nerf bat while she is the slowest, dumbest, frailest character in the game?

I think it's because while Lion and CM can do shit without items, Lion really fucking needs that Blink to get shit done while CM can settle for a 20 minute Force Staff or earlier Glimmer Cape.

And then there's the Aghs Finger. Pubs always build Dagon first when Finger is ultimately the better investment. Even more so when Dagon got nerfed around when stuff like Aether Lens got added to the game.

Valve seemed to be really biased towards snowballing carries and teamfighters, but fucking hated CC machines. They just beat the shit out of CM, Shadow Shaman, Earth Spirit, and Batrider every patch but then they go and do the PL rework, BS rework, endless Luna/Mirana/LC/WR buffs, turning Enchantress into a right-clicker instead of damage-oriented Chen. Not to mention that 90% of the new items are either early game survivability items or carry (autoattack or caster) items. How is ZOOS these days? Used to love playing him to hell and back in pubs and ranked. Just going mid for a fast Blink and then roaming 24/7 to bolt people to death and shitting out refresher lightning bolts non-stop. Carried myself out of 2k to 4k from spamming Zeus alone.

Did he get nerfed? Unchanged? Did changes to the meta sideline him even more than he already was? Pros were always running him like a support (even when it was a mid Dendi) and it made me sad to see him underutilised like that because that's what the meta prescribed. The comments about how it's damage+teamfights 24/7 makes me think he's more prominent now though.

Personally I went mid with a 1-1-4-1 build for some dumb Midas->Aghs memes. Good times.

And I think mid Pudge fell out of the meta years ago, he was probably a roaming ganking support for a long while now, not just because of 7.00.
