Fate/Zero could have been a masterpiece if not for its incomprehensible ending. Although that could just be me not having read the Fate/Stay Night VN. I am actually keen to try out the VN so I can understand the lore and ending a bit better, but I'm afraid it's going to ruin the memories and my appreciation of the characters from F/Z considering F/SN is an eroge done by typemoon and F/Z is written by Gen Urobuchi. Will the tone and the maturity of fate zero be ruined if I read the VN, considering the two series are done by different people? Lancelot is shit without starting NP, so it's justified. if some random Mashus uses a servant of yours with FP CE, you get +10 (assuming these randoms haven't friended anyone) but +75 to both players resulting in +85 just from one of those Mashus alone. And there's alot more of nonautistic players on NA FGO so they're more likely to quit after some time, but before then they will use your servant using it and you'll gain more FP with it than without.

Well I think Jeanne already tanks fine and doesn't need any more tanky CEs. She doesn't need NP gain CEs she always gets her NP from her arts cards. She has 3 arts cards in her deck, right? So I use Arts damage up so she hits always 25% more damage for people.

But nope apparently this isn't optimal for some reason.

The combat system right now isn't bad. It forces you to change your playstyle round-to-round. It puts less emphasis on a single overpowered character outside when you are down to just that one. It gives an easy way to determine team composition concerns, with out the cards are laid out. I'm not sure that I would recommend it for another game, but it isn't a bad choice for this one.

1 more seems excessive in this game. That being said, I wouldn't mind a revamp of the benefits that system would bring. Namely, make effective attacks hit twice for double the critical and NP generation. I guess just give enemies two charges. The problem arises when master recruitment campaign of NA FGO closes and people stopped getting it, since in JP's case, people only uses servants which has FP CE on them because they themselves doesn't have it due to starting late and all.

CEs are always situational depending on specific servant's strengths. it just so happens that Medea already covers a lot of bases your CE would provide, so you're better off looking for a dmg up CE for her. Prisma is currently real good for servants with shit-tier NP gain and fights taking prolonged turns, e.g that 800k ghost interlude/ pair it up with vlad.

Kaleido on the other hand, is handy for farming, which is alot of what the game's content right now.

Kaleidoscope is for servants who you want to just throw out a NP when they show up and be done with it. It is frequently attached to AOE Berserkers because they aren't likely to be gaining much NP over the fight, so it's the only way to get their NP out. Also, they generally kill stuff without CE aids, and so can manage with a "pointless" CE equipped. The biggest problem with using it on Medea is that it only helps with getting one NP off, rather than helping her with firing off multiple NPs. Medea's NP isn't that impressive so just throwing it out one time isn't that great.

Arts Card Effectiveness boosts not only Arts damage (including NP) but also the amount of NP gain when using Arts cards. As such, it pretty much trumps one of those NP Gain cards. Sure, the NP Gain might be more useful in getting the NP to full, but it is not that large of an amount and doesn't include the damage buff. Those high NP Gain CEs should be saved for a character who you don't expect to be delivering much damage, perhaps Jeanne or Waver, and you absolutely want to maximize how much NP they gather up.

NP Damage isn't a great choice, but it does boost the damage her NP deals and so is useful for someone who can NP frequently.
