Sonic games do not need to feature high speed. Speed is integral to Sonic's abilities as a character, yes, but it doesn't need to be integral to the gameplay just because Sonic is playable.

One one hand, wear whatever the fuck you want.

One because people shouldn't be allowed to wear unfunny clothing, but two, these people usually identify themselves as to what games they play, they make it their identity as to the person they are, because they play "Geeky things", and by that I mean ridiculously popular AAA games. Just so everyone around can say "Hey I'm a gamer too, I know Portal lol, this guy must be a cool dude"

But who doesn't pick their clothes for a purpose, maybe these people want that connection in their lives. Maybe it shouldn't annoy me someone wears a crappy Pikachu holding a mushroom saying GAMERS HAVE MANY LIVES. I mean, I wear exclusively Hawaiian shirts outside of work because they're cool but I also want to stand out slightly, How is that any different.

I do want that Mania shirt though.

I'm tired and stressed and outing meaningless thoughts onto you guys is my way of coping.

I only really apply it to the games, and that's because it makes sense.

Based on how Eggman explains it, Sonic becoming an embodiment of chaos is a result of absorbing a ridiculous amount of chaos energy. Sonic in the games has not only done that, but has been said or implied by other characters to have some special connection to them, which is most highlighted in SA2 with Shadow, and in the Rush series with Blaze.

Alongside that, Sonic's game canon personality aligns perfectly with the idea of "chaos". The Chaotic Good alignment is an accurate description of Sonic's entire character (that alignment chart from the social media does not count for what should be obvious reasons). Sonic is a free spirit, a rebellious teenager, he lives life however he wants and doesn't listen to anyone, and he lives life to the fullest and loves adventure. His behavior itself is chaotic and he constantly seeks and enjoys chaotic situations. So his personality and character matches the power of chaos.

And it's not really an instant-win thing...

It comes with him being the main character in a franchise where he can't really lose for meta reasons, but that doesn't need to be an actual in-universe thing. Yeah Heroes is tough to get into. I only go back when the nostalgia is at maximum and even then I just play through the Hard Mode to mitigate the multiple Team bullshit. I do the same thing for ShadowTH too, actually. It's not too bad just playing it straight though. (That one ARK stage is still poopoo though, even without the scientist hunt.)

Eggman is not weak and ineffective. He's just as superpowered as Sonic and the others and I theorize he's just as caught up in the mystical forces as they all are, he just relies primarily on his intellect and technology but he's still strong without it.

No matter how many godlike villains Sonic fights, Eggman will always be the best antagonist for him. Eggman has the Master Plan that can account for Sonic's Chaos Factor. It all boils down to "Order" vs "Chaos", alongside the Industrialization vs Nature thing.

If you mean the original game and/or the HD remaster, it's very much an arcade style game where a single playthrough will take you not very long, so the main gameplay is in 100%ing the game through multiple runs. The controls are a bit clunky at first so make sure you finish the (infamously hard but still worthwhile) tutorial.

One important thing the game never tells you: when you're wallriding, holding down in one direction and then jumping will let you turn faster than jumping and then trying to turn after. 100%ing the game, or even finishing some of the side missions, will be impossible without understanding this.

Superman always wins because he overcomes them through his own abilities, not because some magical cosmic force said so. Obviously the meta reason for Superman winning is because otherwise we wouldn't have a Superman comic, but that's not the in-universe reason. It's the same thing with Sonic: in-universe, he always wins because of his own abilities and personality, not because a magical cosmic force said so.

I was doing the extra missions in SA2 last night. I almost have them all completed, but I'm never going to be able to A rank them all.
Then I moved onto Heroes and rage quit. Every time I go back and play that game I like it less.
Then I put on Knuckles in Sonic 2 and rage quit again because the last boss.
I think I'll try to do some of the missions in SA1 next.

I'll be perfectly honest. I use a cheat to get A ranks in SA2 but still clear the missions. I already did it when I was 15, god damn it, I ain't got nothing to prove. GHZ is just not worth the hassle. When you say SA1's missions, do you mean the stage missions or the SADX missions? Because if it's the latter, god speed on that one Ice Cap Tails mission with the flags.
