I kind of figured out in the end, that the fact is: this is the amount of genuine interest I can get even from a title I thought was really good.

It isn't that bad. Hazuki's route was better than expected and had the least worst drama so far. Noeri's route wasn't that good but she had some cute moments. Io's isn't as bad as that one anon keeps saying, but I guess that might be because I was fine with her chuuni act (and tiny hat) plus the shift to her princess mode towards the end was super cute.

First off, the MC would have to be an insufferable bastard. Always spouting philosophical nonsense that no sane person could relate to. The VN starts as a high school SoL moege with 45 chapters full of cooking.
But after those 45 chapters, all the characters suffer a timewarp and are now adults. Who also happen to be mages.
The main heroine would be an actual retard, but also have extremely large breasts, because people like that, right? The story would finally start to get really good, either by the interactions between characters or plot development. But suddenly, out of nowhere, half of the cast dies in a fire, including the main heroine.
The VN would end with the main antagonist revealed to be the MC's brother, whose only motivation was that he was able to do these things.
Oh yeah, and it's 200+ hours long.Well that's my attempt, with plot points stolen of course, figured it's good for a chuckle or two.

I just can't foresee any scenario where continuing Supipara beyond volume 2 makes sense as even if you were to fund it with other titles (Eden, EF, Trinoline if you count it, etc), Supipara volume 1 still has no install base and the later titles aren't going to outsell the original, and it is difficult to get a franchise to take off after volume 1. Granted, if they just want to complete it as a passion project then perhaps funding it with the extra profits from other titles work, but it would be a tough order to get another $300k out of Minori titles with the cool down of the Steam market. I suppose as a last ditch strategy MG could include Supipara volume 1 in some future Steam oriented Humble Bundle like the recent Sekai one to get it some install base, but I would be surprised if that would get enough people to come back to buy the future volumes at full price to make continuing the series a worthwhile investment.
