Faust is the most honest character in the game, if not the genre. He has almost zero mixup potential (highly situational based on items), no unblockable setups (except for one that's based on getting a specific random item and being at a specific range, so again highly situational), short combos, no gimmicks, a big hitbox with low defense and no 5 frame attack. His play is based entirely on good spacing, good blocking, YRCing effectively and knowing which normals to use and when.

He's the only character in Xrd who can't carry the player. He's the only character in Xrd where being good at him also means you're actually good at the game.

Gief's problem is that his armor/flex is not the right way to circumvent fireballs, it's made him extremely powerful even though they don't seem like too bad of tools. His vtrigger and jab are beyond broken, but the two former tools in my opinion matter a lot more than vtrigger, jab is awful but it can be easily fixed in an update

Gief is not a gorilla. Itazan makes him look good because he has that next level virtua fighter 5 top player yomi. If you guess right 95% of the time Gief is top tier. Otherwise if you are like the rest of us he is high mid. The shit Itazan does for oki is risky as fuck, but anything works if you guess right. Compare it to Snake Eyez's Gief which is more about minimzing risks and footsaroonies and then during the last round of the last game he pulls out the guess right 3 times in a row on wakeup and win tech. Snake Eyez is out. Itazan isn't.
