Origins is an ok server if you dont mind them hardly ever updating ANYTHING because of the sekrit quest theyre implementing. Also most of the GMs play on their "legit" characters, they try to have one in each WOE guild. Look at top alchemists (mostly GMs) top forgers (mostly GMs) You WILL get banned for camping MVPs if someone from one of the GMs guild complains. Actually Kreuzbube will ban you just because he's a drunk kid who gets bored. Have fun trying there though. I have a bunch of shit from when I played there if you Origins players want it.

If you really have unchanged renewal mechanics there then keep in mind that you get 1,5 Atk/Str iirc. There are no bonuses for stat breaks, so all you have to do is to round your Str or Int to 2. Because there're no stat breaks, few points play much smaller role than they did in pre-re, so I find it good idea to pump stats to 90, unless you really need that 99, and then use the rest in some other fields, since 91-99 costs a lot stat points. By sacrificing 9 Str you can probably get like 30-40 in different stat.

STR being also marginally weaker means you can spill more stats onto survival stuff like AGI/VIT or quality of life INT/DEX/LUK when it's not your largest source of damage.

Magic cast times have been reduced at the cost of instant cast being impossible so you're not waiting 12 seconds to cast firebolt.

You can main that class fine, you can main anything if you're autistic enough to care.

If you've never played I'd recommend Re:Start but it doesn't have Sage class at the moment, you might as well try Origins, they'd help you out.

It's debatable, they're weaker end-game because they lack insta-cast, stronger early with decreased cast times. In fact they're one of the stronger early classes because they can kite with how stupid strong Vertical Fire Wall is, and they have the mobbing power in late levels to grind faster than Hunters/Sins but they rely on parties of course. Also MATK relies more on weapons now, so maybe some noobies don't realize that their Rod is weak as hell. They're unpopular if only because they're not a very good solo class later on.

Mainly optimization. It runs like shit. Then you have mechanics which slowly get better as administration acknowledges some issues and patches some of their bad choices up, but it's still not ideal. Then you have hand-holding quest based lvling, although looks like they threw in so many exp boosters etc that you can just grind dungeons, but this on the other hand makes everything else useless. It's just bad designed lvling system.
It's qt as fuck, has pleasant to look at graphics and fantastic BGM though. But that's about it.

I expected it to be more like RO, but only the graphics and music had some similarity. When I played it, you just went to the next area for the "story" quests and killed a big almost identical damage sponge bosses after a cutscene at the end of the quest. Then did some side hunting/gathering quests until you were ready for the next area. Very linear experience and too quest-based. Also grinding monsters didn't give you much exp, only quests. I heard they fixed that later on but I already lost interest by that point. RO gameplay just works year after year.

Currently there is no anti-bot system in the server so botting is really easy right now. Only player reports and random GM bot hunts reduce bots, but they just come back with a new account. Players are complaining about it on the forums a lot so maybe things will change in the future. Bots are mostly for farming items/cards, there are lot of parties going at the popular leveling spots so it's not all bots. You'll level up quite fast if you manage to get into a full 12 man party.
