Server location is decided depending on where the majority of players are from.
>What's a dmix?
A dmix, short for double mix, is when you gather 12 people to play 6s. It's friendly matches against each other, can be serious and/or unserious, although it's usually more fun when people aren't fucking about.
The usual go for dmixes are that once there are 6 players on both teams, one player says last to spec and everyone rushes to join spectator. Last 2 people to join spectator have to play medic, they battle it out and the winner gets to pick a player first.
The most common way to pick is to have players pick. Captain's pick exists too but it's pretty boring since it ends in one team being stacked more often than not. In players pick the person gets to pick a player when it's their turn, team takes turns picking. Classes are picked once everyone has been picked.
TL;DR it's a fucking 6s match

Can't people see the advantages of using them.
The boston can give you 3 more jumps and the bleed will kill any light class if you crit them.

I'm trying to remember the name of the map i used to play on constantly on this one idle server a long time ago.
I doubt the server is still up, but I still want to remember the name of the map.

There was a big open room with team spawns on either side of it, and in the middle of the room was two walls with portraits of the tf2 characters on them. You could jump on the frame of the pictures.
Above each of the spawns was an outcropping that snipers used to be at.
And the big room lead to two other rooms one of which I remember having a pool. They all had more portraits.

Figure there's a small chance that someone might know, or at least remember this map.

From what I remember, the final point is kind of like cactus canyon and you have to get a train to hit it. That's similar to hightower as it could be really hard to cap, so I would guess tdm. It's a shame really, I like the concept of plr but there is not one good map for it.

I have played a good amount of hightower games and only one been serious. That one was a fucking boring game that dragged on for far longer than it should have, the final points are near impossible to cap and it's not fun going on the point and getting destroyed by the next spawn wave.
also the quality of the map doesn't really matter, since even if was great at serious games, those matches don't happen.
