So I had my New3ds at 11.2 earlier today, decided what the hell everything else seems to be going good, might as well update to make sure whatever comes out will work.
After updating my homebrew channel app tries to download a new payload and fails.
After that I checked Luma, when I held select on start up it said it was on the latest version but the luma updater was not.
So I went to update the payload on that, didn't work either.
All my homebrewed games from freeshop all work and so does freeshop.
What the hell is going on here?

I've hacked my 3DS back when the exploit was first found out and haven't touched it since, as such I'm on rxtools. I've felt like upgrading to boot9strap lately, and was wondering about something:

"If you have already hacked your device before and have a EmuNAND based CFW setup, this guide deals exclusively with SysNAND and you should follow all instructions from within or applying to SysNAND. Note that the terms EmuNAND and RedNAND refer to slightly different implementations of the same concept."

What does this part exactly mean? Does it mean I have to start Homebrew Launcher from the Sysnand or can I just do it from the Emunand like I always used to without problems? Anything else I should know for already having an Emunand?

So since the newest Luma-release doesn't work I'm trying to update from armloader to b9s.

Could the error be that it tells me to use "The latest release of Luma3DS", which in turn doesn't work without b9s? Which version should I use instead?

Yes. As I said, thats why I'm trying to update from armloader to b9s in the first place. BUT, paradoxically enough, it automatically links me the LATEST Luma release to do this update, which isn't compatible, and which is the reason I'm trying to update in the first place.

I guess its an automatic script thats always fetching the newest version for the guide, but its basically telling me to use a version of Luma to update from armloader to b9s, even though that version doesn't work with b9s.

Hey /hbg/, I got two different problems from two different systems.

1: I was helping my bud by hacking his 3DS with the system transfer method. However, when we reached the boot9strap install, I think he softbricked. His 3DS has a blackscreen no matter how he turns it on, but it stays permanently on.

2: My own 3DS seems to be getting a weird error when booting Pokemon Moon or when downloading freeShop games (Smash works, so it's not related to bigger games).
It says "an exception has occurred". Any idea what could be causing this?

Put a little bit of lead on the contact point, melt it with the soldering iron and put your iron immediately away.

RGBS is fairly common, RGsB is rare by comparison. Neither of them are the RGBHV that all VGA monitors support, but it's worth checking if your monitor supports RGBS.

Just check what ports your TV has. If it has any kind of connector, the PS3 probably supports it. In order of preference for video quality, it goes HDMI > Component/YPbPr > VGA > RGB SCART > S-Video > Composite.

3DS to router to computer. If your router is crap and far away, you'll have lower quality and a worse framerate. Best to be as close to the router as possible. Some people use connectify on their computer with a usb wifi dongle (or inbuilt wifi card) to create a network from the computer. For best results, try to make sure that nothing else is using that network. If you're going to use your router, try to have your computer wired to it, so there's only the 3DS on its network.
Depends on what program you use on your computer. Most of them at least start you out with a somewhat small screen, but allow you to scale it up. I assume most can do fullscreen, but I've never tried myself, since I always like to keep an eye on OBS while recording, as well as what framerate the program was reporting.
Doesn't seem too bad, but your computer will be doing the encoding itself, so I doubt it'd work very well on a netbook or a really old machine. I used OBS Studio and didn't have any issues with the recording. I think I probably used window capture on it, but game capture probably also works fine. I did, however, make sure that those were the only programs I had open to make sure nothing else was sneakily hogging resources (or openly, in the case of a browser). I've never had a legit capture card like an elgato, so I don't know anything about its software in comparison. I know OBS has worked fine for me on pretty much default settings, with the only framedrops happening when they happened in the transfer.
The programs should be pretty light on resources. Might be a bit of a draw on the graphics card, I'm not sure. As far as programs go, they've changed a bit since I last used one, but I'd probably try UWPStreamer or kit-kat touch. I don't know which has better performance, or if either has an advantage over the other, though.

How easy is it to do a complete system migration from a hacked 3ds to a new stock system?

Dunno if this is the right thread but I have a question. Anyone know what would cause the X button on a 3ds to be less responsive than the other face buttons? It still works, but you have to press significantly harder. I've taken it apart and looked at/cleaned the button assembly, and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it, all the button contacts look more or less the same.

Anon from last thread who wanted to downgrade his PS3 here.
So, I managed to get a dump and the dump log tells me that everything's fine. But when I try to byte reverse the dump and extract the NOR, it tells me that the dump is bad.
I redumped it several times (over 10 times) now and the checksum was always the same, i.e. always "bad" dumps.
So, are those just false negatives or are those really bad?

I just upgraded from a9lh to b9s, and almost everything seems to be working fine, except that for some reason the FE if DLC doesn't show up, even though I downloaded it a long time ago (it's the JPN Special Edition). I tried to redownload the DLC from freeshop and the game doesn't even show up on the list of downloaded games, even though it's right on my home menu and I can launch it and play just fine (with no DLC, that is). So far it seems to be the only game that's messed up, so does anyone know why/how to fix it?

I updated my 3ds from 11.2 to 11.5, however after doing so my homebrew channel forces itself to update, failing everytime.
I checked the luma updater, went to update that, couldn't install payload either.
Everything else works, all my games, freeshop, etc, but not Luma and Homebrew channel.
