New series means the first game sets the lore.

It makes perfect sense to give players old exotics weapons from every angle.

Their models are complete, their perks are complete along with their playstyle meta, they are loved, which means people will play to earn them, etc. There is no real play testing to be done for the meta, no real work beyond updating the textures, all for maximum reward.

It might be awhile till see see, say, hive or SIVA exotics (sans the SIVA upgraded ones), but they will come back.

Armor is a different story, people are less attached to armor, beyond a select few pieces.

Oh, and keep in mind that not every loved exotic weapon will be back immediately, but eventually.

TLDR: the incentive is there.
