Create a New JP Account
1. Create a new Nintendo Account at https://accounts.nintendo.com/
2. Set Country of Residence to Japan and finalize the process.
3. Go to your switch and create a new user.
4. Click on the option that says Sign In and Link. Login with your new JP account you just created.
5. When you go the eShop on the Switch everything should be in moonrunes now.
6. Find the Splatoon Demo and click it. Then find ダウンロード to download.

Using an existing NA/EU Account
1. Go to https://accounts.nintendo.com/.
2. Login to your existing Nintendo Account.
3. On the User Info Tab, click on the edit button on the Profile Section.
4. Change your Country of Residence to Japan.
5. When you go the eShop on the Switch everything should be in moonrunes now.
6. Find the Splatoon Demo and click it. Then find ダウンロード to download.
7. To Switch™ back to your region's eShop, go back to step one and change your Country of Residence to the appropriate one. You can also do this to get the NA or EU Splatfest you don't have.

Anyone want to take a guess on what they think Splatoon 2's metascore is going to be?
I think it'll probably end up somewhere near 86-89 with the reasoning being lack of content on release again. Not that I think that'll affect the sales in the slightest. Japan's too crazy for Splatoon for that to matter.

Yes, especially as it's on sale right now. It has a long-ass Adventure mode and a bunch of other fun modes. Online outside of Ranked is pretty dead from what I've seen (though maybe it's more populated at US/JP night times) but you can get matched in a Ranked battle almost instantly.

i plugged it in the mic jack, set it to listening and tested it. i can hear now both discord and the switch sound and can also communicate.

The real reason why so many Splatfests have disjointed results is because not enough people play the game. So you may see Team A get 60% of the vote and Team B get 40% of the vote, but those numbers aren't actually as different as they appear. It might be a difference of a couple hundred people. So within statistical variation, one would expect to regularly see results where the team with fewer people still ends up winning more matches.

On one hand, it's got beautiful box art, and it's cheaper if you get it physically.
