The unreasonable cold of the night bit into her flesh, gnawing on her bones. The darkness of a starless sky and the lack of light pollution that came with any major settlement swallowed the path before her. And still she pressed on. For all the hindrances she had already overcome, nothing burned fiercer within her than her hatred for that one place.

No matter how skilled, how powerful one Magus were to become, there were limits they could never overcome. Toppling a country, erasing its very existence from the face of the earth, that was impossible for any and all. But not so for that thing. That cursed vessel that no doubt was going to take her down with her, for nothing in life was without consequence, without remuneration. She had left behind love, riches, knowledge, all in pursuit of her hatred for that place. Alcohol, women, killing, power, money; nothing could quench that fierce flame within, remaining untouched by even the strongest pleasure or thrill. It would never go out; it was like a curse. The mere existence of these creatures, worshiping their false god and spreading his will with violence and destruction, their existence at all drove her mad.

You know they could just ignore Gorgon and make the plot more linear with Ishtar and her sister 'attacking' (Ishtar cajoling Ere) with Kingu sticking around longer as a helper before Merlin and King Hassan (who gets an expanded role) expose him. Then skip Gilgamesh's idiotic filler trials to go and persuade Ishtar and Ere to drop it before the Tiamat thing strikes.

Babylonia was full of subplots when the meat was Roman realizing who Solomon was through Kingu example and Tiamat's battle. The rest was all subplots to collect waifus which you can get the rid of in a fujo-oriented stage play. Gorgon was only important because of Ana's development, you remove them and you can get to the story faster.
