Every Servant has 5 command cards. For the first 3 turns of a battle, the game will shuffle and pick 5 cards out of the 15 available from your Servants on the field (or 10 if only two left, and obviously only the 5 if you only have one left).
If after three turns, none of your Servants are dead, then it reshuffles the 15 and start again.

The ratio of card types is really telling of the gameplay of a Servant. A Berserker usually has 3 Busters for maximum brute strength, whereas a character with 3 Arts will charge NP bar better on average, etc.

Yeah it's better to just aim for a single 5, hopefully hoard around 600 quartz for a juicy 80% chance to roll her (and two or three 10 rolls in real money savings), and if you get what you wanted then start saving again using what's left for the next servant you want.

Many anons really think that they can aim for a team full of 5s just saving 100 or 200 between rate ups. I don't think that's a wise desicion and people are basically screwing up their chances because they are greedy.
Also Okita, Mordred and Jack players can get really screwed by new years paid gatcha, because they can easly blown over 400 quartz trying to get them and they roll them again there.

Around 800 or more quartz you're in the golden 90% basically.

You just need the discipline to skip rate ups that you normally would consider "safe" in order to drastically increase your % on your most wanted character.
