The meta is blue for the most part, a red mage will get fucked by melee blues and can't take out blue magical threats.

There's the threat of Hector, but it's far more efficient to take him out with a melee red than with a red mage, simply cause the red sword will have odds of surviving a strike back should they fail in their chosen task, if a red mage fails they'll be erased from the playing field. Only reason to run a red mage is to bait Julia, and Hectors are more prevalent that Julias

If you're going to do it then Sophia is best choice. Henry is really tanky and low damage, rellying on his special to OHKO things while Sophia is built in similar way AND able to do damage while still nuking. Raigh is just too-middle road, so he ends up rather bad in everything outside of his attack rating, don't bother unless you REALLY want a wolf tome+ user.

He's a really good cav with good spread and skills where only bane you don't want is -spd, his best boon is +spd. -def does diddly when he is not engaging on enemy phase due to Firesweep. Mine is -atk +def unfortunately, but inspite of this still very feroucious.

Honestly, Berkut's Lance is probably the least garbage part of him. If you have a Distant Counter Effie or the like, it might be worth inheriting it onto her to make her more tanky against enemy mages or mankete.

His statline is so completely beyond salvage that getting Krimhield wouldn't even have done anything. At least as it stands he's useful for weapon inheritance if you're a whale.

With Fury his stats are on par with Hector, TA hurts him more than it helps and Distant Def doesn't actually change anything.

The only thing that's actually going to kill him is a blue mage, even then if it doesn't 1shot him his 51~ attack might one shot them.

So to compare the 3 Res based Cavalry units who matter.

Mathilda is a barely slower and weaker Peri, but is barely bulkier Defensively, but has better Res.

Peri is the strongest but is the most glass cannon.

So... I've written theoretical skill sets and stats for some SoV characters and now a bunch of them just got added. I was wrong on all accounts on weapons and skills, and just about the only thing I got close to was Berkut's title (I wrote Pride of Rigel for him, and his real title is Prideful Prince, which is pretty close).

Stat wise... let's compare what I wrote to the real thing.

>Mathilda: 36 HP / 34 Atk / 34 Spd / 21 Def / 30 Res
Real has around the same HP, way less Atk, less Spd, more Def, and more Res. I wrote her to have higher Res than Def and that ended up being pretty true.

Real has less HP, less Atk, more Spd, less Def, and... more Res.

It might have DC, if they consider being an armor enough of a handicap to not make BK too strong, or mess with his stats to have a glaring enough weakness. Xander isn't actually that bad because he's niche as an enemy phase red sword cav, they still introduce all kinds of red cavs that don't overlap too much with him, DC or no.

Camus, on the other hand, is a generic all-around good lance cav with a 16mt DC weapon. There is almost no room to introduce another lance cav that won't be edged out by Camus unless they make them extremely specialized or flat out better. The only option they have is to stick decent SI on them like they did with Rody and Mathilda so people will roll for them anyway.

If BK has the standard knight spread and a DC Alondite, he basically becomes a free red Hector, and every red knight afterwards is going to be shat on for not also being a red Hector, just like we're seeing happening to Berkut now.

I love Roderick and mine is -hp+Res. His entire base kit is pretty good, not having to face retaliation on player phase and fucking vantage users is awesome, just pair him up with a physical/magical tank, preferably with reposition. I'd definitely put him on my "to 5* list" if only for his Lance alone (heard fliers make good use of it), even if he's a pretty good user of it with 46 atk and 37 spd in your case.
