whenever you pick a hero in game on the bottom left hand side of the shop there's a popular items section that has 16 items or so items there. you could treat those 16 items as 'core' items for the hero currently. you can start just buying the popular items- for example, with juggernaut you typically go poor man shield -> phase boots -> ring of aquila -> manta -> diffusal -> etc. but this is not always the best item build every game- perhaps you get no farm in the early game. in a case like that you might skip the aquila and go straight for manta as it's more important to get for the hero.

and in some cases you might not need diffusal. you might need some other item instead. you'll only be able to figure out which items to buy on a case by case basis by playing the game a lot and learning from experience.

hi, i'm currently 1.6k and climbing. i use a counter picker every game, try to get my team to pick something that counters the enemy team (i know these counter pickers aren't perfect but they do help a lot for someone who doesn't know the game so well)
mostly i play roamers who win lanes, it gives me more space to direct my team and i find myself winning much more often when i can be the glue holding the team together. because otherwise, they're just a bunch of assholes who hate eachother.
if you're on radiant you can play just about anything and win as long as you aren't getting countered by 5 perus. but on dire, i pick bara or pit lord. i build force staff and save my retard carry, and i build drums so when the fight breaks out we definitely win. because dire is hard as fuck and those heroes own this bracket. some other popular builds:
-pugna "roaming support" (just get gold from killing every building and every jungle camp, lifedrain every motherfucker that walks near your carry)
-earth spirit (any build with this hero is basically correct)
-winter waifu (glimmer medallion ursa/huskar/sven will never fuck with you again)
and rubick if you wanna style on niggas.

I think the only reason this hero isn't extremeply spammed right now is because he' kind of a weak laner and a boring (+ugly) hero, and also because I think a lot of people don't even realize that 7.06 added an Underlord Aghs.

This shit is actually insane though if you try it out. Pushing out a lane will give you about 400-600 damage from Atrophy Aura, more if you clear jungle camps on your way. If you have aghs that means an extra 300 passive damage for everyone on your team.

You start off normally, in the offlane, ideally not solo because Underlord is actually a terrible laner and anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't realize they nerfed his W and the shrine nerf hit him really hard.

First item you get is your mana boots. You need these or you will have mana problems. From there you work on getting your Aghs, and then after you've got Aghs you can build whatever. I personally would go for AC before Greaves but you could go either way, the value of the hero is still in his ability to hold auras and buff his team, and he really does hold some insane ones. You also need to get a blink dagger IMO, the hero's mobility is really bad. Even before his Aghs upgrade, he was just the guy who built basically only aura items, and his aghs upgrade doesn't change that, if anything it makes it better since you're now giving your carry and even the other supports on your team some insane damage output for the duration of the aura.

Atrophy Aura sticks around for your team even after you die, by the way. Not sure if people realize this.

People on Leddit will tell you not to rush the Aghs but these people are wrong. Nobody in your pub games is going to realize what you're doing and counter you. Your team will suddenly end up having a team fight in mid, and if you're good at the game you'll have predicted this and built up Atrophy Aura stacks in time for this by focusing on killing creeps instead of having the retarded mid-standoff that everyone always does in pub games.

If you do your job right, your team can whiff every ult and will probably still somehow win the teamfight because of your aura.

I didn't do the math, this is just my experience from playing the hero, by the time you push out a lane you've accumulated like 500 Atrophy Aura damage. Honestly couldn't tell you how this math works out and you're right, it does sound absurd, but I consistently get figures above 400 when pushing a lane as Underlord.

It's also worth noting that his ult isn't just an escape. You can push out a lane as far as you feel comfortable, and then TP to a totally different lane and push that one out to build up the aura even more before comitting to pushing highground. I don't see many people using his ult like this but it's a totally viable way to use it.

You can ward dires ancients from the low ground next to rosh pit. Thats a great spot. Theres also a cliff at the river in front of the dire top bounty. Between both of those spots is an eye spot which spots dire jungle. I think actually dire is much easier to get good vision of than radiant, might be the aforementioned difference.
Warding on a shrine is also usually good. The eye spot by dires bottom tier 1 is very good. The highground in front of radiant bottom bounty has a decent amount of coverage. When I'm on radiant during the laning phase i will often put a ward down at the cliff opposite the eye spot at bottom rune. If a tower falls, I'll usually stick a ward somewhere in that area if i think it will lead to a catch.
At the start of every game you should make sure theres a ward on mid highground. It will increase your mids efficiency by a lot.

Brew is a great offlane. You can contest really well with haze. I generally pick it up first level unless we're contesting a rune and could get FB, in which case I'll grab clap, but otherwise get a value point in haze, then maxing clap if I'm an initiator or brawler if I'm doing the meme right click build.

You even can contest in a trilane simply due to evasion and haze unless they have like a Skywrath or SD. If it's a dual lane though I tend to try to haze the support until I have a point in brawler and contest CS, then haze the carry after that since the innate evasion will be able to mitigate any right click harass, especially with a PMS. Unless you think the path to victory is through tilting the carry early, in which case just dump haze on him whenever they go to CS.

Group at 6 then just go fight.
