1) all Berzerkers should have BBBAQ decks and Buster type damage dealing NP's because they're meant to just be fucking beatsticks.
2) all Assassins should have BAQQQ decks and Quick type NP's because all they're meant to be is star generators.
3) all Casters and Rulers should have Arts type support NP's because that's ABSOLUTELY ALL they're good for.

You want to know a fun fact? There are no Servants in the fucking game with a more useful NP than what Merlin has. It's so fucking powerful that with literally that and fucking Mashu you can beat most of the games content without any difficulty. The things it can't beat? Things that need heavy damage. Merlin does no fucking damage. Waver does no fucking damage.

If you are forming a party, you take the things you need. Double Merlin + Waver is not a valid event combo, but a Merlin and a Waver with a Sanzou or a Gil or whatever the fuck is. Or a Berserker, if you have a strong one - but depending on the damage dealt by the enemy, you might be better off with a Caster that doesn't take double damage.

When I think back, I don't think I've ever gotten anything decent from saving up. The most I ever saved up for an event, I only got three copies of the one servant in the gacha that I wasn't trying to get at the time. My numbers are way off, but the best way to think of it like this:

You have a 100% chance to cause death, right. The enemy has a 50% resistance to death. That means there's only a 50% chance that death is caused.

That's normal enemies. Tougher enemies, though, basically have a narrowed base death range - like 10%. So if you have a 100% chance, and they have a 50% resist, you only have a 5% chance. And then bosses and shit have it at 1% - or lower. So your chance is actually less than a percent.

You'd need like a 100000% chance for it to be viable.

Top three casters are Merlin, Solomon, and Gilgamesh. Its hard to really beat someone with clairvoyance.

Gilgamesh even has "Sovereign of Wands" ability that makes him an expert at using various magic tools. Merlin is just Merlin, and has Excaclibur. Solomon is probably unbeatable so much that it takes every other servant in the world to really match him. Plus he can summon demons and shit.
