Kintoki encountered Shuten when Shuten was disguised as a young girl, and the two of them would frequently spend time together. They're both descendants of Gods, meaning Kintoki was the only one who could keep up with her crazed drinking bouts. Since he's a pretty childish guy, he grew attached to her and actually fell in love. Of course, she was still an Oni, and Kintoki came to be recruited by Raikou as one of the 4 Heavenly Kings (basically a super squad). This meant that he would later have to help Raikou poison Shuten by deception, which then resulted in Shuten dying. After that, Kintoki had to live with knowing that he used underhanded tactics to kill the person he loves, so his one wish is just to be able to be with her.

It's a pretty adorable story really. Their relationship isn't as fleshed out in the legends, but that's mostly because there are several variations of the tales involving the 4 Heavenly Kings and the mountain oni, and TM Heroic Spirits tend to be a mix of all.

Yup, but the Oni are known for their deception through turning into girls. Ibaraki did the same thing to Watanabe, where she has both turned into a beautiful girl to trick him (and failing miserably), and turning into his stepmother iirc.
