I've been playing the Kingdom Hearts series lately (KH1, Re:CoM, KH2 so far), because I was told by a friend the gameplay is fun, story is bizarre, and the music is 10/10. About the music though the lyrical themes are the only good ones, Kingdom Hearts has mostly bland and uninspired music. The only non lyrical songs I can recall off the top of my head are the Halloween Town's themes and Pete's boss theme. I only remember Halloween Town ones because it's basically an abridged version of "This is Halloween" and I only remeber Rowdy Rumble because Pete is one of my favorite Disney characters. These games soundtracks are probably Yoko Shimomura worst songs ever. Other than that my friend was right, except for Re:CoM, that gameplay was shit, for Sora side at least, Riku's was fun.

The simulation was supposed to contain and fool Roxas long enough to restore Sora, it is supposed to be as realistic as possible.
The Grid is also a digital world, which munny and other items also transfer to the other worlds.
It's a bit odd that worlds can just be created from data and said data can be turned into physical objects but I don't see how Simulated Twilight Town would be different from The Grid.
It's probably not the oddest thing to happen in Kingdom Hearts either.

I think the Master cares for his apprentices too much to let them die in the War.

Last chronological sight of any Foretellers is Ira and Aced flying off-screen to fight at the end of Player's gauntlet.

Luxu's dialogue with Ava implies that the Master cares more about them than the world, and his whole shtick is "what's important is what comes after."

So he probably prepared something to keep the Foretellers alive past the War.
Only question, really, is why he needs Union Leaders chosen from the Dandelions.

I think depending on your Union, the last Foreteller is Ira or Aced. After the fight, they're about to strike you down and Ira/Aced comes in and brings the fight off-screen because of their whole feud thing

The only wielders that can match them are the other Foretellers, so there's no way they died there..

game theory: A future cutscene will show Ventus taking the darkness from player and putting it in his own heart because his light shines bright. Xehanort later tries to teach Ventus because he senses great darkness but is dissapointed because it isnt his darkness. Vanitas is so powerful because its the players darkness.

You know now that I played the HD collections I realize that KH2's story wasn't satisfying. Maybe it's because Roxas was the one who had a conflict with the organization and DiZ while Sora just kept fucking around. So many things were set up in the prologue but they went nowhere. All of this would have been fixed if Sora had Roxas' memories when he absorbed him. He'd know about the organization and actually have a good reason to kill them and he'd know that it was Riku and DiZ responsible for kidnapping him but also saving him which would make Sora's reunion with him more interesting. Well there's no point complaining about it but damn nostalgia really does have one hell of an effect.

That's really my only problem with this game (outside of it being a gacha). I'm still mad that I spent the jewels to guilt iYuffie and iAerith and they are beyond useless now. At least some of teh better tier 3's like Xaldin B and Meowjesty can be salvaged with stronger and stronger attack boost skills

Last I remember, no. But I also read here that SENA changed the gooey interfaces of the game's firewalls and that made hackermaning it way harder so people haven't datamined it recently.

Playing Days again.

Y'know, I don't know if even a remake could save it.

As far as gameplay goes, literally everything is a misstep...
They'd have to completely change every single idea.

I'm thinking basically
>standard Command Menu gameplay
>standard equipment system
>standard level/ability system
>openly-explorable worlds

Since most of the missions are fucking nothing and not connected to the overall plot, even the day-by-day plot structure can be fixed.

How KHII has that episodes list, Days could have a list of objectives, which gets updated as you progress. Story-required missions would be marked as such and progress days forward.
Story-specific missions would trigger on the day they happen in the DS version, and other missions would be locked off until it's complete.

So instead of this fucking 9-to-5 simulator with the mission interface and shit, and ice cream cutscenes after each mission, you could drop into a world and complete as many objectives as you want/are able.
Shit like "collect hearts!" could instead be "collect X heart points" which would be cumulative across visits, allowing you to overlap that grind with different missions.
Giant enemy Heartless could just be... there. And you can challenge them whenever. Maybe make them Absent Silhouettes so their spawn area isn't monopolized?

This game is honestly salvageable, it would just have to become very different.

I think it may in fact be the game's biggest flaw.

It introduces so much tedium into the game and is a constant obstacle in the pacing. The game just never picks up because of this on-off-on-off momentum.

Even within the first hour of picking this up again I was getting tired of it. It's too slow! This is supposed to be an ACTION-RPG.
