2E reveal with the flashback of the two times she killed 9S.
First time they both are dead either way.
Second time, he was, as far as 2b knows, also dead. But surprise, he survived and 2b didnt kill him after that.
I know i have to read a lot of lore. But this kinda destroyed the ending a bit for me. And reading why the fuck this makes sense, a day or two after that doesnt make it better.

i don't think adam really had any master plan, just explore hatred as any other machine explored its own goal, just to inevitably be swallowed by it and fail to overcome it.

the symbol is just because adam had him put it there. they found it in old world information apparently. dunno why, probably thought it looked cool.

red girls are just machines, unrelated to the project. yorha was created by an android in order to boost the dropping morale of the android combatants, since they were losing the war. the backdoor to destroy bunker, wipe out all data and turn humans into gods was installed by number 9, a prototype yorha unit who likely shared the personality archetype with 9s. it's in side materials.

Yorha units were created before the human server idea came to zinnia. I believe they were meant as high power combat androids that were expendable because of machine cores.

zinnia's idea was just to use the bunker as a "relay station" to contact humans, but he deemed it too unrealistic and full of holes before no9 went with it anyway, after making a few alterations.

no9 dies shortly after zinnia, he would have no time to construct the whole bunker. the plan was already in motion, no9 didn't really do much except the finishing touches.

Nah it hasn't been explained in anything yet. Taro hinted at the great calamity (the huge earthquake that led to the appearence of cathedral city) in the strategy guide interview and the final drakengard 3 dlc ended with a tease of a possible prequel story with Michael, so maybe the next game if it ever happens will actually be about that. It could very well be both a sequel to Automata and a prequel to Drakengard 3 at the same time if Cathedral City really comes from the future of Automata's world, it would make sense since Accord seems to be a successor / more advanced model than the machines we see in Automata

The great thing about eyes is that they can be extremely expressive. The eye mask takes that away and you're left not knowing anything but without it you could easily see when 2B is slowly warming up to things or when she's super pissed off at Adam for example. I think both have their pros and cons, I just think 2B looks better overall without it.

PC has some reesolution issues resolved by the FAR mod, but also some unresolved hardware issues. The recommendation is to buy from steam and refund within first two hours if they occur.

They say they're working on a PC patch, but Square Enix has dropped the ball for it so far for 3 months and counting

"Fine" is questionable. The game runs but there's absolutely nothing you can do to fix any potential issues there may be regarding frame rate and such.

For PC just install FAR to fix the resolution and provide any tweaks you may wish to make. If you've got an AMD card then expect being fucked, though there's a patch coming "soon" fixing those issues. Worst case scenario you can just refund the game.

im playing with a kaby lake cpu and a gpu from nvidia's 10 series, with an xbox one controller.

ive had no issues. steady 60fps with every maxed in fullscreen. I havent noticed any scaling issues at 1920x1080

i think people with AMD gpus have trouble tho.

the only nonissue i have is i keep accidentally hitting my mouse when using a controller and i confuse the game so the UI switches between controller icons and keyboard icons... so it goes Press X, E Key, X, E Key, X, really fast.

The only grinding in the game is if you decide to go for platinum and upgrade every weapon, otherwise upgrading your phoenix spear to 4 is simple and will utterly destroy everything you come across. I guess side quests can be but most of the side quests that are a bit of a grind tend to not have very interesting payoffs.

What you described is literally the entire point of the masks. The relative lack of emotion makes the moments when they take them of so much more powerful. 2B's death is a good example if she had taken her blindfold off too much before that scene it wouldn't have the same impact much less symbolic meaning. Same for 9S when he puts it on and takes it off. You undercut them as standard garb and you undercut multiple key scenes.

Speaking of golden stubbies, I killed them out of order on my first (deleted) playthrough. I killed the city ruins one with 2B, then the golden tank one with 9S on my way to meet Adam. As soon as the flooded city part became available I went down there to activate the save box (still route B) and killed the golden enemy there. Somehow, the golden enemy in city ruins had respawned and I killed it again for the dialogue and part. This was on normal.

What was weird is on my second playthrough on Hard, I killed them all with 2B (grinded desert pit for shock wave chips) and went city ruins -> desert housing -> flooded city again but this time the stubby in the flooded city flew around like a fucking rocket shooting himself at me. Definitely didn't happen first time through on normal.

So I just got endings C, D, and E. These are the main conclusions, yes? E was rather sudden, but D hit my emotions like a truck.

i was never weeb enough for those games to be on my radar. And from what i saw on youtube, they play and look terrible, even for the time.

the way automata handled its characters, i came away not caring enough to look any deeper than a few youtube summaries. they killed off 2B before i could warm up to her, had me play as 9S when i bought the game to play with 2B's mechanics, 9s goes emo before i could learn to care about him, Enter 2A who i care even less about, everyone dies, game turns off, and i go do something else.

2B's gameplay is fun. ill replay the game in a few months after I forget all the generic philosophical nonsense every japanese story is Loaded with.

i have a good bullshit detector and chime in when i notice a blind post in someones reasoning. someone thought people were lazy for not reading deeper. from my own experience i didnt read deeper because the game never gave me enough to become invested in the world. i like automata, the gameplay is fun, the music is amazing, the art style is great, and level design/environments are enjoyable/pleasing even after the 100th time running through. but how the characters are used and develop is being smooshed through a predictable japanese philosophical lense ive seen before and has been beaten to death. The worst has to be he doesn't even pause to analyze what happened and skips straight to "let's kill things". Adam appears. Does he scan him? No, it's a machine, so kill it. No, they're machines, so they can't be trusted. 2B dies- does he asks his pod what happened? No, A2 did it, so kill her.
