Siege is clearly picking weird guns to avoid looking generic, adding a straight up ak, probably the most commonly included gun in videogames completely goes against that.

I usually place them on doorways the attackers will enter the building from. Putting them on windows barely ever pay off since they're on eye-level.

There are two usual EDD tactics. The first is to place them far away as to take an attacker by suprise. The second of which I prefer is to place them right on the objective. The failing of the latter is of course that the attackers will expect you to do so. This however is what will slow them down and force them to drop their sight picture near the objective to remove the EDD's. Really depends on the map, but my usual strategy is
-1 on the objective room (deploy this later so initial drones don't see it, as you'll probably be anchoring). It's expected, but it may catch a last-second push.
-1 on approach route to the objective (if Ranked, do it on the "back route" to the objective, not the direct path from the usual spawn).
-1 on a room next to the objective, which attackers may use for cover during their approach, as they'll probably be looking the wrong way and be too busy too look down.
