Not that I'm aware of.

The pixel art was fantastic, and they went through the trouble of animating every little detail. Like in most games picking up a key under a rug would just happen when you click A. In this game she actually bends down, flips over the corner of the rug and grabs it. In another instance she actually uses a screwdriver to unscrew the panel, and it doesn't just happen. It's really refreshing.

It's not bogged down by the same fetish to much and really gives you a lot of enjoyable content. Even when the game ends, they go so far as to have an after story that is really just more content.

It doesn't reuse much animation, with most of it being completely fresh for each scene, and if it's not completely fresh it's done differently.

Sound is good.

Big thing for me is how the puzzles are not just stupid. You can understand what you're trying to do almost all game, so while it is basically a single thread of story through and through, it never feels unengaging.

It's only "major" fault is that I feel you move a little too slow. And that's a problem tons of hentai games have, but at least in this one the location you're in is quite small, and the movement animation changes at a few points through the game keeping it at least somewhat fresh.

Sometimes I like to just take a moment to think about how fucking good Ariadne is.

Everything about it has so much care put into it. It really feels like an above-average 16-bit JRPG. In particular, the environments are so vibrant and well-crafted. So many HRPGs have dungeons that literally just look like randomly generated labyrinths with the visuals consisting of 1 floor tile and 1 wall tile.

The battle system is unique, but still simple and not overly tedious like scalegarden games.

The only bad thing I can say about the game is that the H-scenes events didn't receive the same level of treatment as the rest of the game. Not to say they're bad or anything, they're just typical and average. Just still images with a few phases, as opposed to having some sort of animation like some other games do.

You have to do quests that involve your party members. Usually in the ヒント part of the quest journal it says a party members name saying that they need to be in your party when you go to the area they want you to go to.

Unless you need to do something else, so far I've only seen quests.

It's all quests, though 1-2 actually involve the girl NOT being in your party. Once they reach 5 stars you can change their outfit. I managed to finish all the quests in the game, there are something like 80 of them, the only really grindy one is the exact same as the previous games, you have to get the super rare drops from those tiki guys in masks from the last dungeon. Not worth doing that one unless you are an autist, took me about an hour to finish that one alone.

Maybe I've too high standards for an H-game, but the demo showed some really clunky controls, collision detection, and animation transitions. It just felt like an alpha state of your average indie platformer. Also, there were reused gimmicks/riddles in the demo. I reiterate, the demo, which is supposed to be just a tiny chunk of the final product, already had reused set pieces.

It makes me worry for the full release.
