It's the new form of the gearscore/ilvl cancer. It lets them see what's the highest dungeons you've done. Gotta have at least ~1500 to even get into the high keys nowadays. Which means grinding out the shitty keys and dungeons that don't even have upgrades for you to raise your score.

You don't need to upload anything really. It's automatic since it checks Blizzard's leaderbords. Just go to wowprogress. Find your character and click the update character in the upper right. It might take some time for the updates to show depending on server lag. It might show update queued but it won't update so you often have to keep trying. Hopefully your other runs are still in the records.

With 12 dungeons and every key level giving roughly 10+ points depending on how fast your record clear is, you'd need an average of +12 on every dungeon to reach the baseline 1500 that pugs are requiring. Good luck my man. It's a cancerous system since they don't even check which dungeons you're good at and mostly care about how high your score is. You can clear a +15 eoa easily but they won't take you for a +10 eoa key because you haven't done a +15 cathedral to inflate your score.

-use all your spells. Not explicitly stated anywhere but from what I see using a variety of spells gives you arcane missiles charges more often than just spamming one
-when low on mana and evocation on cooldown empty your arcane charges with arcane barrage and cast "base" arcane blasts to regain mana but still do something.
-if you get the belt legendary, wait for 50+ stacks before using mark of aluneth. If you don't have this item, keep it on cooldown.

Friend of mine is playing a resto shaman and I keep urging him to join me in BGs because it's really fucking refreshing after hours of monotonous and tedious raiding, but he keeps whining that pvp is useless for him because he has "pve" gear (meaning shitloads of mastery instead of haste) and he'd just get stunlocked and raped because gear means he won't be able to get heals off.

One of the major issues with that is it heavily encourages class stacking. Like sure it's probably a blast being an AoE class on a farm fight where you get to jerk off to skada (e.g. Galakras) but then the GM is probably going to focus on bringing someone else for the real progression fight which is single target in nature. Like sure if you're not shit its not a huge deal in your heroic level guild but if you're deep into mythic ToS everyone on your roster should be competent anyways.

Sure. I never pretended class balance is perfect at this moment, perfect class balance is this sort of unattainable idea that they should always strive for. But rogues have always been special in this regard due to feint and CoS. For instance they were the only melee brought in for Blackhand because only they could survive soaking the smash.

I wouldn't be surprised if Method was stacking them for reasons very similar to that, since I haven't bothered to follow ToS very closely.

A rogues performance is not substantially higher than anyone else. The same thing happened for Blackhand and if someone claimed it was about their performance rather than mechanics that make rogues fundamentally unique (again, feint, CoS, and vanish) they'd be laughed at. Which is the opposite of what you were originally complaining about-blizzard making classes homogenous.

I'd be curious to hear Method explain why they were stacking rogues, and I'm fairly confident it's for a similar reason. Everything I've seen about Avatar stresses how it's extremely difficult for healers and guess what rogues excel at? Mitigating damage taken, reducing AoE damage by 50% with no cooldown. A toolkit that no one else has.

They're not bringing 5 Rogues because of their DPS. They're bringing them for their survivability. 5x Assassination Rogues, stacking Leech gear with Leeching poison can reach around 20% base leech, combined with the Blood DK buff for an additional 20% leech on a CD. Those 5 Rogues combined are doing as much HPS as two dedicated healers in the execute phase, meaning they don't need to be healed *at all* by anyone but themselves. This means the healers can completely ignore 25% of the raid.

I'm saying more homogeneity (turning feint into a basic cooldown, for instance) would mean there would be no substantial reason to bring a rogue rather any other melee DPS such as an arms warrior. Unique mechanics means that there will be unique situations they can be abused, leading to severe class stacking.

Again, the whole reason they are stacking rogues generally has little to do with class balance in terms of damage.

Let me rephrase this: Since the end of the BC buffs paradigm, there's no reason NOT to stack specific classes to the exclusion of others, making Bring the Player a nonsensical PR line. If everything is the same aside from minor mathematical differences then you bring the one that has the minor mathematical advantage. There is absolutely no point in bringing a melee other than a Rogue when Rogues do the same or better damage with all of the defensives.

If this raid were under the BC design paradigm on the other hand, you'd absolutely want an Enhancement Shaman in there for Windfury totem, and maybe even a Ret for improved Might.

By making everything more or less the same, you encourage class stacking to ab absurd degree because something is always going to be better.
