Need advice on a new character to pick up, new to fighting games in general, picked Claudio and Dragunov before and got a decent amount of matches on both but neither really clicked for me.

He has a point in that aggressive players don't really have to learn anything other than their own character. They just get to constantly push their advantage. The more honest or defensive characters have to learn every other character if they want to stand a chance against them.

I would say I have a pretty solid grasp of the general fundamentals of the game, and I can regularly win against characters I have played against quite a bit. However, as soon as I run into an aggressive character that I don't have a lot of experience against, I get fucked.

For example, a lot of people were saying Kazuya was an easy win, and Akuma was tough. I do fairly well against Akuma, but for quite awhile that Kazuya hopping spin kick crap that hits low would catch me every time. The only difference was that I have played against Akuma in a variety of games, but I rarely ever played against Kazuya.

It is the shitty ranking system. The higher you go the less people there are within a few ranks of you, meaning it is going to be harder to find matches with good connections. And because the garbage system, most people are limiting their matches to people within a few levels of themselves,further lowering the pool of players you can match with.

I genuinely don't understand how to fight characters like this

she can infinitely loop her combos, so when am I supposed to attack? Even if I use my FASTEST punisher after blocking I still get hit, probably because I'm blocking while her combo isn't finished yet, but its never finished. I must be the biggest noob on the planet because she's apparently the worst character in the game, but I've literally never beaten her once because they ALL do that infinite flip combo that I don't know how to beat. But the rare time when you get matched up against a smurf who physically rapes you in every aspect possible to the point where you don't even know what's going on and can't learn anything from it is horrible. It doesn't always happen, but when somebody gets absolutely shit on by an array of mixups, launchers, poke, parries, throws, and blocks, they tend to get so upset at the loss that they go to forums and complain.

If somebody complains about getting hit by snake edge 10 times in a game then they're just garbage. Somebody complaining about getting dominated by a smurf is understandable, however, as the experience is so bad, people feel the need to complain.

On a scale of 1-10 how hard is it for a new player to fighting games to learn Steve Fox?

Yeah he definitely is one of the cooler characters. All the summons are fun but I wouldn't say no to him getting some new ones if he's added to Xrd.
