I saw on the other thread that someone was saying that ABT and Ian know what's going on and can't say because of work things.

While that makes complete and total sense, I can tell you with complete confidence that they have no idea what's going on. They know that Sega is "making decisions" and that Archie hasn't told them a damn thing.

One thing they do know is that they haven't worked since December and that they all need(ed) to find other sources of employment.
I really wish I could say they knew anything more.

Heroes is Adventure with a team mechanic, overly long levels you have to beat 4 times and absolutely fucked physics for a platformer The worst offender is the fact that your falling vertical momentum will translate into horizontal momentum even if you you hit the ground at a 90 degree angle, and jumping to correct yourself after you land will kill you, because you will get flung off in the direction you're traveling.

I'm thinking of making a rpg game where you play a freedom fighter

My idea is to make it ye olde text console based so I can avoid making shitty coder art, and allow for stuff like the whole party being made of characters chargenned by the player himself, like FF1 or Wizardry

The exploring is like Rogue, moving screen to screen, where the enemies are encounters, moving to more of a jrpg like battle mode

Pretty much hung up at the moment on figuring out the design and how to implement it all. I can code this all in C like the times before or maybe Gamemaker since I have a license for that sitting around collecting dust but of course I can't sprite and rather have text descriptions

There's 3 recommended points
>Issue 1 and read everything. Over 300 comics to read, a lot of them crap, but this imo gives the true experience of the comics. Some things in Ian's run lose their wow factor if you skip this. You can also read from issue 1 on and when you can't take it anymore, skip to 160 (Though I think 174 or 5 is better for that)
>160. Start of Ian Flynn's run (The writer people like) You skip all the Ken Penders shit and get the overall best of what it has to offer, but Ian is a continuity whore so unless you read up in the encyclopedia, the first 15 or so issues will be confusing
>Issue 252 and Universe 55. The start of the current continuity. No Penders bullshit, closer to the games, and more consistent in quality outside of Worlds Unite. First 3-4 issues will confuse you into thinking pre-reboot is relevant. It isn't. Generally the most consistent in quality, but spends 3 years on an Unleashed adaptation. Never hits pre-reboot lows, but never hits the highest points in some people's eyes (I disagree)

51-159 is considered the bad stretch or "dark ages." There's still stuff worth reading, but it all starts falling apart majorly after 50.

I usually recommend reading from 1 until you don't like it anymore, skip to 160 and read on. Or start from StH252/SU52 read until the current issue and go back to read the pre-reboot stuff. There's a long reading order that I don't have on me.

The books are currently in limbo, we do not know if it'll come back or if it is cancelled for good, regardless there's likely plenty of time to read.

Ok guys, i just had an idea and i think it is worth sharing:
Sonic (and other characters) have stamina meter. Every time some ability used(spin dash, homing attack, chaos control, flying with tails,etc.) meter is being depleted. It is very smal and naturaly regains somewhat slowly but you can use abilities at cost of burning rings (think super sonic). Chaos emeralds expand your stamina pool (and maybe accelerate recovoey of it). And maybe full stamina pool can be used as defence in case if you have 0 rings at cost of full deplition.

I have the PC version of the Collector's Edition on preorder because they went up before the Switch version was announced and that version costs $10 more for some reason.

Plus I don't even have a Switch yet anyway so it makes more sense to get PC now and buy it on Switch later on.

This isn't going to necessarily answer your question but I noticed that the Advances SS's are like twist of CD and Genesis 2(?). So I think it's for the variety and challenge.

Is it worth it considering how tedious it is? Not really, or at least do it once. One would get more story/plot/cutscenes, kind of similar to 3&K, if they do so. So I suppose they're trying to mimic the originals.

It completely went against everything that Sonic was supposed to be and focused more on teenage and relationship drama than an actual plot or any action. Then the story ends with the timeline being reset so none of it mattered.

When Ian first got on the series, his editor requested him to do a follow up story on it which doesn't really make any sense since because the timeline was reset, he would have to pretty much reboot it. His take on it was a lot better but it was still pointless shit since none of it was canon.
