CE levels just affect the +ATK and +HP bonus. Your biggest concern is going to be the 4x Limit Breakthrough for the additional ability on the card. Past that is a nice bonus, but not necessary.

Sure, they aren't terrible to have, but you aren't going to have a limited-time ascension which goes away in a month, in the same way that a limited-time store item priced in prisms might. Aight, so all my main dudes are ascended once, and most are 'maxed' at 40/50 respectively based on *rating, and I'm trying to do the second ascends now and I need a bunch of stuff that I'm not 100% sure how to effectively pursue.

Need 25 of those Proof of Hero coin looking things (can you get those from any missions? I got a bunch for the new player bonus thing and I think I've seen them as login rewards)

Need 5 Serpent Jewel eyeball things (Have ZERO, so I'm guessing I've never even incidentally gotten one as a random drop anywhere I've played)

Need 23 dragon fangs (have 2, don't explicitly remember where I got them in the first place)

Britfag here, I'm very tempted to spend the £66.73 on the largest quartz package. I played this quite extensively (though didn't get far because of my poor Japanese literacy) throughout the JP era. It's not like I'm poor, I have plenty of disposable income but I hate spending it (which is why I have disposable income anyway), and I fear getting trapped in a slippery slope of gacha addiction.

As long as you limit yourself properly then why not? I give myself a $200 budget per month to spend on games, should I wish it. This can be to buy new games, pay a monthly MMO sub, or gacha games. Only do this if you can comfortably spare the money obviously. If you're going to miss that $200, or in your case £66.73, because you need food or need to pay bills then don't do it obviously. I'd personally only do it if there are no new games I'm interested in to buy though.

Aside from leveling the few gold servants I have as far as I can get them, what else should I be doing to prepare for Nero?

I don't get it, I've been rerolling about 30 times a day for 4 days now and the ONLY 5* I servant ever got was Altera. I skimmed through previous threads and I see other rerollers giving away accounts with 2-3 5* on them and I'm like... HOW?!?! How are you guys able to pull so much gold while I barely even see a 5* craft essence every 8th summon or so. Is there seriously something I'm missing or do I just have THAT shitty luck?

Generally, it involves running three to six versions of the game on a PC, using a script to play through the games automatically, and then leaving it running overnight. Most rolls are not going to get a 5* anything, much less 2+ 5* servants that you are looking for.

If you want her for the FP, use the FP boosting card. Jeanne doesn't really need CE help to keep her NP gauge up.

Personally though I wouldn't grail her. She's powerful as it is and once we can do her interlude she'll become ridiculous. 90 is more than enough I feel.

Supposedly Jeanne will drop off later on and there'll be better servants. She's just really good right now. So for gameplay reasons, you probably shouldn't grail her and wait to grail one of the more mainstream servants later on.

If you're going to consistently use her because she's your waifu or whatever, then yeah just grail her. People grail Seiba because she's their waifu and it works out.

Herc is a crutch character, his usefulness will drop off eventually. Go for Carmilla, she is good at slowing enemy NPs and prepping an enemy for execution.

Her NP also does extra damage against women and heals her massively. A good chunk of the bosses in this game are female.

Altera 2nd ascension w/ Kaleido

I always have fun with Altera, especially nuking stuff with her NP. She hits hard and has decent survivability. Plus, she'll be at a very high level after second ascension (Lv70) and so will attract more attention. The others will only be Lv50, and far more likely to just get passed by unnoticed. That, and Lancelot/Herc will end up dying frequently, and might see less picks because of that.

Guys do you think it's important to get the ascension materials for final Jeanne right now?

I'm only about halfway there. And I'm at the point where it's not leveling me enough to ride the free AP train. I don't wanna blow quartz on this. But I also don't want to miss my chance before the half-AP event is done.

I know there's going to be a couple more times before the event is done, but this is the only day off I have to really dig in and farm.

Unless you are looking at Jeanne to be your FP farm, ascension materials aren't that critical. There isn't much difference between Lv.80 Jeanne and Lv.90 Jeanne at this point, or Lv.60 vs Lv.70 for that matter. Her ascension is incredibly easy to get and when you're picking up monuments, you'll be grabbing enough pieces to ascend your other characters.

So what's so bad about Fate/Apocrypha and why do most people here seem to hate it? Do people not have hopes for it because it's not Ufotable adapting it or is the problem the source material itself. I was really excited that there is another war with new masters/servants and not another FS/N spin off or reimagined version of it but the general reception had me lowering my expectations quite a bit.

Jannu is one of the absolutely worst picks to grail.
Grails are mainly good for servants that have lots of dmg multipliers so they get a bigger benefit out of their higher base stats. You shouldn't ever use them on supports, the extra HP from those couple levels pretty much never matters.
