I actually enjoyed the Wheel of Time run, maybe even the best run this year in my book.
The Lion King was nostalgia, but the runner was pretty bad, even if that game is really hard.
V6 race was good too, very evenly matched runners.
Prince of Persia - Sands of Time was good too, nothing spectacular, but since most runs this year sucked it makes the list.
And if it has to be 5 runs, Diablo 2.

So going to a GDQ seems cool from an outsider perspective, but really try to make some friends prior to coming, or have some friends in the community.
What I'm going to say here isn't rude, it's just a very real thing. This type of environment encourages a live audience of people from the internet, and people on Twitch in general. There have been people coming for years who live very antisocial lives, and are afraid to talk to people and get off their phones. Towards the end of the week they get really sad because they didn't talk to their favorite streamer, or get food with anyone, and they just want to go back home.
Then, once they're home, they realize they honestly did have a good time because it's better than being on the computer all day. They come back 6 months later, and unfortunately do the same thing. This is why you see lots of people saying things like "if you see me at GDQ and you want to say hi, just ask!". We are all kids on the internet and feel free to smile and talk to anyone, you'll have a good time. Make some friends.

Bubbles is a real stand-up guy.
Even after what happened last time, he kept a cool head, played well, shut down the whole steam invite on stream thing professionally, had funny and informative commentary throughout the run, and even ended by respectfully calling the community that attacked him "inviting". He kept his head high, but wasn't afraid to mock himself a bit, either.
Good on him. He handled both blind hatred and honest criticism excellently.

Just because there was a handful of goodruns doesn't mean it was a good GDQ. They still really need to improve on setup times, the increasing amount of no-effort trannies is still disgusting and simply a lot of the runs were boring and not even technical/informative.
