Just look at Balanced Set if you don't want to specialize in something. There's basically 10% of change in attack/defense, with other increases in values as well.

I am actually pretty interested in season 3 heroes. Knights never have appealed to me much and boipussy gladiator and cunturion haven't changed my opinion. Ronin(Yojimbo style) though, and huntress (sword+axe), AND Highlander (there can be only one!). I have to say, game might be dead by then but I'll for sure be there to play those. They have the potential to be very cool options. The only problem I see is armor options, I would want my huntress and ronin to have minimal armor and the highlander as well to be honest. None of them should have true "helmets".

I tried playing him like Orochi and got my shit kicked in, but using the dodge feints and the way he can just immediately transition into one of his moves, along with using hyper armor to trade with your obscene damage is great.

so real talk, does anyone ever really enjoy playing this game anymore?

feels like after 300 hours, every fight feels the same and it's always just boring as fuck where being aggressive is heavily punished. hell, even when you turtle and try to be aggressive (like a LB block into shove) against certain characters you can take free damage.

I literally just had a staring match against a kensei where I just held block top because the first to attack loses.

what's worse is the devs and their 1000+ member team seem to be nowhere near close to fixing or changing the meta, while they'd rather just circlejerk about a faction war that means nothing or other meaningless features.

The burn out is real for me, and as much as I like this game on paper, the gameplay is just really fucking backwards. Not even boring, just unfun.

You can watch videos of gladiatorial re-enactments on Youtube to get an idea of how a Retiarii would fight. It's mostly all about disabling rather than outright attacking. The net isn't usually used as a snare, but rather a distraction. It's weighted pretty heavily so it can fuck up the flow of some movements. Also, you can see a pretty large change in fighting style once the Retiarii loses his net or gets forced into a close quarters situation. It goes from passive and very cautious movements to a ton of quick jabs and sweeps. The biggest strength of a trident over a standard spear is sweeping the back of the ankle, and I imagine this will play into Gladiator's character a lot.

2:14 is where a lot of the action starts, but if you look at 2:40 in particular, it highlights how a Retiarii fights primarily. It's all about trying to disarm or disable the opponent. He almost never attacks at the head or the chest, he always tries to either knock the sword out of the Secutor's hand, blast the shield back to put him off footing, or sweep his shield side leg to make him stumble.

I imagine that Gladiator will be all about using the net to debilitate, then go in for the final strikes later on. I know the leak said that Highlander has two stances, but I imagine Gladiator would as well. One with the net and one without.

Ronin is a Vanguard/Heavy, not an Assassin. He's about the size of Kensei with the physique of Conqueror. His unique ability makes it so that his lights can't be parried, but in turn they're pretty slow and don't deal much damage. His entire gameplan revolves around getting people to block his attacks then cancelling into his dash attacks. Forward dash attack is a rush attack that can hit from either side. On block or hit he can mix up into another heavy attack, an elbow that stuns you, or a backdash into his signature move "Shogun Slash". It's a cross slash that's unblockable and knocks you down if hit via a 15 second cinematic cutscene like with Centurion. His side dashes have powerful roundhouse kicks that knock you down if you're hit by them. He has a guaranteed followup on hit where he picks you up and stabs you in the back for a decent amount of bleed damage. If you guys thought Warlord was bad, you're going to hate Ronin. He's pretty much the last ditch effort to sell season passes.

Highlander is basically the Kensei of the DLC characters.

He's a straight Vanguard and his "stance switch" shit isn't true to some extent. He can use the full block button to go into a "rage mode" where he can infinitely chain his attacks until he's hit. The first hit of a chain can't be parried when he's raging. He has a foot stomp unblockable that let's him get a free heavy. A lot of his gameplan is getting rage on, then getting a footstomp to get some damage in. Other than that he's pretty plain.

Huntress is still kind of in a design dilemma because they don't want to make her too much like Berserker or Ronin. Her main gimmick is that light attacks use her sword and heavy attacks use her axe. She also has an offensive version of Hidden Stance that allows her to armor through attacks and counter with a flurry. That's pretty much all that's definite right now.

Retiarii rumors are true, has a net, a trident, and a dagger. He's designed to be a very agile Heavy that is all about keeping your distance. The net gets knocked out of Gladiator's hand (or off an enemy) after blocking three times, at which point he switches to the spear and dagger style and becomes much more aggressive. Cannot punish most unblockables unless pre dodged, pre dodge will still get you hit with tracking on some of them.
Like the rest of the slow guard change characters their new issue is they still can't dodge out of guard change as quickly, making certain attacks free agaisnt them.
Shove is only a mixup agaisnt people who can't react to lights, can always be rolled out of if high enough stamina.
His unblockables from neutral are still suicidal to use.

He's bad, but 70% of the characters are bad especially in 1v1, hes better at ganking and shitter stomping so take him to dominion.

Can any anon help me out on this? I can never seem to GB Warden even if I block their zone. I've met up with alot of warden it's same shit everytime. I whiff my GB then they grab me and I die. Yet if I do it as Warden, I get grabbed.

-blocking the zone while it's thrown from max range pushes you far enough to whiff the GB
-not pressing forward while you GB will cause you to whiff the GB
-doing it too late will cause a whiff
