Lunara is pretty good in games where she can be safe (lots of tank/support/cc on your side, not much on theirs)
Tychus is a niche pick against high hp frontline, but otherwise not too great, a decent pick to have pocketed though

Both of these heroes aren't all that great to focus on heavily in the current meta desu, though you'll have fun with either (provided you can stutterstep decently in Lunara's case)

Slam build is decent AoE dps albeit not bursty. Bruiser stitches is decent though weaker than Sonya/Leo/etc

Tank stitches is pretty good anti mage if anub is banned/taken and still has beefy HP even if no armor. Plus late game stuns are good for him.

Hooks get picks, either hook + gorge + towers or hook + someone following up with a stun.

Play style basically boils down to 1) do decent damage at the cost of some survivability, or 2) be tanky and peel/slow but do piss poor dmg.

If your team can follow up hooks/gorges then you can turn a lot of key fights into 5v4s. Tbh he has a weird combination of abilities, where if you aren't playing with potatoes he can be more impactful than Diablo/Mura/Jo, and prob on par or a step below Arthas. Still loses to Dehaka and Anub though.

One thing you're going to realise is that heroes either have cc or damage but not both because a hero that has both in this game with no item counterplay will just dominate.

Anub'arak has SK's burrowstrike and Nyx's Impale so that's probably the closest you'll get but again, Anub alone can't solo carry/do damage but he is amazing at fucking with the enemy team.
ETC is also a tank who charges in and out of the enemy team.

You're probably going to have to try out a few heroes and figure out which ones you like because there aren't that many obvious Dota parallels - even if it seems like it - because Blizzard is doing its own thing (and Dota was doing its own thing when it started taking concepts from WC3 anyway).

Ranked in HotS and Overwatch is just grinding as many games as you can play, you don't really need to be good to get higher. Also, mute everyone on the start of the game. People never contribute anything.

As far I know there is a guaranteed chance of getting a legendary each 13 (or something, I don't remember correct number) boxes, getting a shitty legendary still counts and resets this counter. Of course you can get legendary inbetween those 13 boxes with some luck, but no more guarantee, which means getting shitty legendary is twice as sad. Too small for him to splitpush, too 'short' for him to play a stacking build, too oriented on holding a position (which typically requires a strong duelist). He also has no escapes at all, so if he's out of position or the enemy team collapses on a player with poor awareness he's instantly dead, as opposed to something like a genji or anub which can just go "Nope" and leave.

The azmo pick denied us a strong top laner and the enemy team took thrall top, thrall proceeded to gigglestomp azmo. Enemy team also had a falstad who could fly in behind asmo and turn things into a 2v1... and in actual team fights there was an anub to CC the shit out of azmo.

Overall it was an utter shit pick, and alongside the tassadar pick we had (D.va, Valla, Uther, Tass, Azmo vs Fal, Thrall, Rag, Lucio, Anub) our team wasn't able to win any fights.

There's two guys in particular in high diamond on NA, one who only plays sonya and another who only plays rag. I get matched with them week after week. This has always been a thing in multiplayer games, for the longest time

The best example I can think of right now is L4D 1 & 2 Versus mode, where a Survivor on your team intentionally throws the game by running off alone to feed, jumping off the nearest ledge, shooting their teammates, or intentionally fucking up objectives that results in their team being unable to progress the map. The small community was not unlike a shitty assfaggots one, and some players would even DDOS the server to make ongoing matches unplayable

This kind of stuff goes beyond griefing for laughs, into some sort of pathetic and immature display of power

As long as Malth just touches someone they are taking the damage. His damage is also unstoppable to armor. Also his is hardy as fuck and CC doesn't hurt his hardiness.

He's like a combo of Illidan and Lunara, only he doesn't have to actually attack and he can murder obj bosses by farting on them every 4 seconds.

If you still have those 1000 free gems, you should get the 30 days Stimpack. You get +100% XP and +150% Gold, which makes leveling so much less of a pain. Malthael struggles versus double support because his damage is so low / over time.

Hard engage and picks are good vs double support. Things with fuckoff blow you up damage like Greymane, or things that separate things from their allies (cocoon, gorge, BIG DICK SWAPS).

Just got a chance to play tychus into malthael, and the bit of theorycrafting I had for it was totally correct. In the Rhythm and Thats The Stuff absolutely fucking shred Malthael.

Ethereal existence is a non-factor for you because you out-dps him so badly. If he engages while your trait is on cooldown just use Q instead (its ability damage) with the damage upgrade at 16.

Laser drill is also strong for blocking his ability to run away.

Play him like greymane. Poke until you get a chance to jump in and blow things up. Don't go in until stuns are used and keep mind of what the cooldowns are for said stuns.

Your level 1 talent should almost always be agile dismount (big increase in jump range from mount + lower cooldown) as that's a great way to get into fights while still leaving dash available to exit them. Dodge is also absolutely fucking overpowered.

Dragon claw is pretty good for a bit of burst damage. X-Strike is the 'easier' to use ultimate and generally the safer choice, as it can disjoint and get you into the middle of a fight without having to use dash, leaving it open for escape, but it doesn't do nearly as much damage as Dragon blade. Dragon blade does a *fuck of a lot more damage* but it is considerably less safe to use.

Deflect talents aren't normally taken, but the 33% extra damage at 16 can be huge, and zanshin at 20 is *usually* the best storm talent. If you can bait a juicy deflect on very fast attacking things like li ming laser, tracer AA's or even a tychus Q (very good cause he cant cancel it), you can absolutely blow things up. Even braxis boss or viking camps can cause a shitton of damage to everything.

If 4 of your teammates are dead our out of position and the enemy team is taking a boss / tribute / objective / whatever the fuck, don't suicide into it like you were obligated to make an "attempt". It is entirely okay to just walk away from something rather than trickling deaths. If you lost two people and they just took a punisher, let the fucking fort go, you can defend it at your second wall instead of getting picked outside the wall and guaranteed losing a keep.

Royal Focus at 4 if you got confidence in your team and want to be even more aggresive.
Lingering Apparition at 7 only if you took royal focus at 4.

Do people play Alarak with quick cast only or is it doable without? Feels weird to play one hero with quick cast and everyone else without.

There's something satisfying about queuing up with a friend on comms as an Uther/Zul'jin duo and shitting all over the enemy as they try go duel him. Doesn't even matter how bad our team is, if we lose the objective we siege, if people want to duel we duel. Between the armor, ancient kings, tazdingo, and dshield the other team just starts running once you've pushed their shit in a couple times. Don't even have to start herding the retards on your team, eventually they just start following you around.

At 20 it's even more unfair since on top of the 7s invul, Zul'jin heals back the taz dmg and the Uther facetanks to die first if we're super outnumbered so that he can keep applying armor and spam heals. Then devotion ends and redemption kicks in and we're right back where we started.

I'm sure this is bronze as fuck and eventually we'll run into opponents who hard counter us or people who actually remember to use blinds, but goddamn if this isn't the most fun I've had in a while.

Thinking we'll rope in another buddy tomorrow and see if we can't run Tyrael sanctification for that 10s Zul'jin invul

Spoopy ghost hand is your bread and butter. If you're consistently landing it you don't really need extra healing, though the talent at 4 to heal off minions is good if you're finding yourself needing extra healing (in QM with no healer for example) Most talents aside from the trap talent at 4 that enhance it are what make you (and it) effective. Q is basically just for waveclear and/or slowing someone enough that you can land your drain hope. Plus your 20 talent basically invalidates it as a healing aid, making it a wasted talent.

Was thinking that, and it's probably a better setup for getting picks (zone someone out with force wall, AA Tass has great dmg, no stealth ganks) and overall sustain, but that 10s of absolute fuckoff damage while zuljin is at 1hp with active trait, esp with Tyrael shield and zoning at 16 seems more decisive for late game teamfights. Def gonna try both combos though.
