He wants lots of health and optimally some defense and spirit on the side. Don't bother boosting his attack or magic, his damage is lackluster even when fully specced for it.

Depending on the team you want to go Archadian Light -> Provoke or just straight up Provoke. His LB is superior to his Word of Law in every way and provides a pretty nice 30% mitigation, and he counters a ton so it should be up often. Once you have Provoke and/or Archadian Light up, he can act as a battery with Rejuvenate. Optimally you'd have him in a cycle of Provoke/Archadian Light or LB/Archadian Light or LB or Rejuvenate/Provoke. Basically nearly always have Provoke and his 60% buff up, LB when it's needed.

He does well as an off tank, I use him with my WoL and he soaks up nearly everything WoL doesn't get. The fucker can take some hits too with over 8k health, endure and 20% omni-evasion. The best part is he doesn't stress your healers since he can fully heal anyone he likes for dirt cheap.

If you are talking about the first blitzball game in ffx, the only easy way to win is to overuse passing shenanigans to make Tidus shoot for the goals by himself, meaning there cant be anyone around him to block the ball. If you can do that, and be aggressive on defense, you should do alright. I remember not being able to beat it otherwise, took a few retries to get the hang of the pass shenanigans.

The only form of Reraise in FF VII is Final Attack/Phoenix, I'm pretty sure. Aeris has a couple Invincibility LBs aside from all her heals, so expect mitigation. She's also got one that fills the whole party's LB bars, so maybe she could team up with Rikku if they do anything like that.

Rasler is nigh invincible, and will even passively tank your squishies. He can even actively AoE cover when the situation gets dire.
His frames perfectly time to create 27chains with another rasler, or even Ashe if you like (but not her healing move, sadly, just her physical one).

My team is Ashe plus 4 Vaans. If I have a decent Ashe friend, they can chain and one-shot every round. If it's Zar, then no chains and Tiamat runs rampant with stop and petrify (really likes targeting my Ashe and/or friend unit for some reason). If Zar could do damage, it wouldn't be much of an issue. I'll try giving him another shot and see if Ashe can one-shot the boss by herself with his buff, but I don't have high hopes.

Shit no. Unenhanced Ramza is only +40% to stats. Considering how ATK and MAG scale, a 20% difference is worlds apart. There's also the status immunity, I guess.

And, Zargabaath just cost me a thunderbug. It might've been winnable if the 2nd last enemy didn't survive with the tiniest sliver of health and drained all of his mp, but probably not since it was turn one, Zarg gets petrified, turn 2, Ashe gets petrified. I think I'll be sticking with Ashe friends though. He would be really, really good if I had a second Ashe, that buff is pretty great, but such is gacha.

Zarg only fills that one part, and not very well. It isn't worth losing a team spot over 15%-20%ish stronger buffs.

Just remember that auto-revive procs as soon as your unit dies, not at the end of the enemy turn. So if a boss kills your unit with the first attack he can kill it again with the following attacks, and you lose whatever buffs your unit had too.
