1. rush varrock diaries (at least medium but you really want hard done within a timely manner) they give a free daily 30/60/120/240k which adds up over time
2. do farming. as low as level 32 (takes like a total of 20 minutes of playtime with tree runs) you can plant ranarrs which average 20.7k per patch right off the bat (with magic secateurs) these an be done bi hourly and you can do 5 patch runs with pretty low requirements. This alone can easily pay for your membership alone if you do at least 2 herb runs a day.
Honestly unless you truly cannot afford to pay for membership I suggest just paying for it with cash. When you are building up your account you really dont want to have to fork out 179k a day. You can definitely do it but it will hamstring your progression.

Varrock diary bstaves yes, you make like 1k gp profit per bstaff per day. It's really not that significant and anyone who sincerely gave you advice to do that diary specifically for the money when you're a beginner gave bad advice. Diaries in general are nice to start as early as possible though. And yes the first quest you do to start farming is fairy tale pt 1 at level 1 farm and a decent combat level, which requires lost city. Lost city just needs the crafting level req and access to fire strike and you're good to go, the boss can be safespotted and you can bring runes to it it's a joke.

Right now tb is actually sort of important, since the pjing mechanics mean that escaping by binding/freezing the person you're on and standing under them or hugging them around an obstacle of some sort then teleporting is a fairly reliable form of escape. Tb and mith seeds are nearly essential for getting kills in single on prepared people.

I'd vote yes for brawlers if they were reasonably balanced in terms of rarity and reward strength. The old ep system obviously had some gigantic problems e.g. inflation and farmability, but it sure did incentivize people who might otherwise not have participated in pvp to do so.

While we're at it, reintroduce pvp armors, either tradeable or untradeable. The timed permanent degradation was a cool mechanic that made them pretty balanced despite their strength.

I unironically wish they'd remove wilderness pvp again. It serves no purpose, the game is literally hosting gambling which is illegal. A lot of people are buying currency on websites and via bonds and going to the duel arena to stake it.

This is only even partially true at low (<110) combat levels, and "wait for endgame before you do pvp" is a very reasonable piece of advice that's not exactly unique to runescape.

I worry about a different accessibility-related problem. The boring shit forms of pvp (pure edge) are the ones most casuals identify as representative of pvp. More interesting and more obviously skill-heavy sorts (hybriding/nhing/overhead tribriding/rsb) are a lot less visible and harder to get involved in, which precipitates a lot of untrue or partially true stereotypes and generalizations about pvp.
